We spark moments of happiness for people and within the communities where we operate. As ice cream makers we are serious about happiness. With warm hearts, we create the coolest products. We are the proof that an unbroken chain of happier people works – for a happy planet and winning smiles. As the largest ice cream company in the world, we have over 100 years of experience in delivering smiles, and we plan to continue this for many more years to come, with our people and planet first.

We have 35 brands, including 3 one billion Euro brands (Magnum, Wall’s, Ben & Jerry’s), in over 60 countries. All driven to spread happiness through indulgent yet responsibly made and marketed products. We have a well-developed strategy to deliver growth and value creation which is clear on where to play and how to win.

INTRODUCTION

We are at a unique inflection point where we are preparing for the separation of Unilever’s Ice Cream business.

The Ice Cream Communications and Corporate Affairs team works to create value for Ice Cream as well as engage with its people to collectively work against the company's strategy and growth ambition.

This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about working for a large ‘start-up’ business that is set up for strong financial performance, a leader in its product category, and eager to bring people along in all phases of growing a company and its culture. The ideal candidate will have a blend of creativity, agility, strong stakeholder management skills, a hands-on growth mindset and attention to detail. You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a solid track-record in internal communications. You will be a natural networker, and a trusted adviser and business partner, with a focus on Supply Chain.

The role reports to the Ice Cream Head Communications & Corporate Affairs (C&CA) and Sustainability and you will be working alongside a driven and agile team, closely collaborating with the Global Ice Cream Supply Chain Communications Specialist and the workstream lead for Supply Chain & Procurement. Coming with a versatile communications background, you will be responsible for the creation and execution of a global supply chain communications and audience engagement strategy that will successfully ensure all are brought along in the change journey.

As part of both the C&CA team and the Establishment Program team, you will have experience advising and working with senior executives, and the desire to work effectively with talent across the business.  You should be able to exercise strong judgement, thrive in a collaborative environment, be able to prioritize competing deadlines and have a genuine passion for engaging people around a business agenda.

You have a hands-on mentality and can define an approach, plan and execute so our suppliers and others know what collaboration with the standalone Ice Cream business means to them and their business.

This position offers unprecedented access to senior leaders, a truly global perspective, and the opportunity to work in the biggest ‘start-up’ of the moment.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:

  • Work with the IC Communications team to partner with the IC SC Establishment Team, design and execute a comprehensive communications plan focused on the Supply Chain to manage transition to standalone Ice Cream company.

  • Collaborate with all cross-functional leaders of the Establishment Program to map out communications impact in each function and design plan accordingly for an End-to-End supply chain set up.

  • Manage supplier communications to engage relevant stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner.

  • Enhance factory engagement and effectively communicate across a diverse landscape of audiences.

  • Planning for communications-related activities in the separation process including defining objectives, timelines, and key milestones.

  • Advise and lead Town Halls for the Ice Cream Supply Chain community.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • 5 - 10 years versatile communications experience, with a focus on internal, preferably including factory engagement.

  • Experience managing supplier engagement to help establish Ice cream as a standalone company, skilled in timely and effectively informing suppliers with business updates.

  • Experience working with and advising of senior executives and ideally navigating a complex matrix organisation.

  • Delivery in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail and diversity.

  • Creative thinking and proven ability to spot opportunities across the company and translate into internal initiatives.

  • Discretion when dealing with confidential matters.
