We have immediate openings for part-time English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructors as part of our Learning English Together program serving adults in Montgomery County. Classes are offered during the weekday as well as in the evening. The ESL Instructor position is a 1099 contractor role.
Duties
Teach adult ESL classes (in-person or online opportunities available)
Create exciting, imaginative lesson plans and class syllabus
Use textbooks and realia in the class.
Administer classwork, homework, and quizzes to confirm comprehension
Abide to program policies and procedures
Communicate with students weekly via WhatsApp, Remind, or text messages
Email welcome letters to students prior to the start of a new session
Email new registration and informational links to students
Take attendance
Administer tests and assessments regularly
Requirements
18+ years old
College degree or TESOL certification
Experience teaching adult ESOL students
Must be friendly and have an outgoing personality
Experience working with a diverse student population
