Job description

Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes, but is not limited to: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. Fusion has multiple other pipeline programs that will soon be entering into early FIH trials. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and other therapeutic modalities including DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. To support execution for these programs, Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radioconjugate manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for our growing pipeline of RCs.

The Role: Director of Logistics to oversee and optimize the transportation, storage, and distribution of Fusion’s products. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing transportation of radiopharmaceuticals between Fusion site in Hamilton, ON, CDMOs in both Canada and the United States and clinical sites, ensuring seamless logistics operations to support our clinical trials and eventual commercialization efforts. This role will be reporting to VP, Supply Chain & Logistics.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to ensure efficient and timely transportation of the products, considering their short shelf life and specific handling requirements.

Manage relationships with courier services to ensure efficient and reliable transportation of time-sensitive materials, coordinating pickups and deliveries to meet tight deadlines.

Collaborate closely with CDMOs to optimize supply chain processes and resolve any issues that may arise.

Continuously evaluate and optimize the route mapping to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and maximize product availability. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance overall logistics efficiency.

Implement robust contingency plans to address unforeseen events and ensure business continuity.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards governing the transportation and handling of our products. Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary measures to maintain compliance.

Proactively identify potential risks and challenges within the logistics network and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to supply chain operations.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the performance of logistics operations. Generate regular reports and analytics to assess performance against established benchmarks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Clinical Operations and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure alignment and integration of logistics activities with overall business objectives.

Provide strong leadership and guidance to the logistics team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing logistics organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
