Job description

Procon Consulting LLC is seeking a talented and detail-oriented BIM Specialist with experience in the Design and Construction Industry. As a BIM Specialist you will be working directly with the Client, Design, and Construction Team. The BIM Specialist is responsible for managing, facilitating, and executing the daily processes of developing and maintaining Revit and AutoCAD in the office, client site, and construction site. This person will also be working as the main point of contact to designers and modelers for Revit and AutoCAD related items. The BIM Specialist is accountable for delivering successful integration, design, construction, operations, and automation workflows.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist clients with the creation and maintenance of their BIM and Data standards.
  • Use Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and other relevant software to perform quality control analysis, facility reviews, and coordinate updates of models throughout the design and construction phases to ensure models meet client requirements.
  • Perform light modeling or BIM cleanup tasks and understand how to bring BIMs into compliance with client requirements.
  • Facilitate and chair all BIM planning and BIM review meetings throughout Design and Construction phases and ensure that contractors are providing milestone deliverables that are in compliance with relevant BIM and Data requirements.
  • Perform BIM Spatial Data Validation analysis of all design submissions in accordance with client’s Spatial Data standards.
  • Perform clash detection analysis of Design and Construction BIM submissions to ensure building discipline systems and components do not conflict with one another and are coordinated.
  • Provide Clash Report showing major conflicts between building discipline systems and components.
  • Perform analysis of BIM design submission for Errors and Omissions which would cause delays or change orders during Design or Construction phases.
  • Perform COBie (Construction Operations Building information exchange) compliance checks on all AE and CMc BIM submissions to ensure they comply with Client’s BIM and Data Standards.
  • Perform review of all AE and CMc BIM Submissions to ensure they comply with client’s BIM and Data Requirements. Provided BIM QC Reports at each submission and back checks after AE and CMc resubmissions.
  • Write QC reports that clearly yet concisely detail how a contractor’s BIM submission is out of compliance with BIM and Data standards.
  • Coordinate all activity between AE, CMc and GSA during the Construction Phase.
  • Coordinate the update of the Construction Model by the AE to ensure required as-built information is properly entered and compliant to GSA requirements.

  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial/government office building design and construction.
  • Proficiency in the most current versions of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience with BIM standards and procedures.
  • Ability to develop Design Intent Drawings and other documentation.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural schematics.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with large building owner facility requirements and standards.
  • Prior experience with federal or government projects.
  • Knowledge of POR, Campus Design Guides, and Construction Standards.
  • Ability to integrate BIM into RFI processes.
  • Experience with construction estimating and review.
  • Proficiency in creating renderings and managing BIM models.
  • Experience with drafting standards and national building standards.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of office furniture, wall types, and light fixtures.
  • Experience with developing reports and studies for federal agencies.
