Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

 

Role Overview:

 

The Marketing Content Manager leads the creative content team. This team finalizes creative concepts, applies complinace updates, creates state versions, executes personalization strategies, and makes final preparations for advertising to be released to market.  Advertising channels supported include direct mail, customer programs, magazine advertising, mail order inserts, and increasing levels of integration with digital advertsing. This role demands a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the advertising campaign lifecycle from creative inception to final production. The MG2 will train, mentor and evaluate the performance of the content team, ensuring all advertising materials meet the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and creative intent. This position requires close collaboration with cross functional teams, including Creative, Strategy, Compliance, Product Development, and Print Production, as well as managing relationships with external suppliers. The MG2 is also tasked with supporting senior management initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and preparing the team for future technological advancements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and quality.  

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Provide strategic direction, training, and coaching to the content team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Regularly evaluate team performance, offering constructive feedback and ensuring that all team members are aligned with organizational goals.
    • Mentor and support the MG1 Content Team Manager, ensuring that day-to-day operations are running smoothly and effectively. 
  • Workflow Management & Process Improvement:
    • Oversee the creation and management of schedules to ensure all advertising materials are completed on time, meeting all deadlines for sales campaigns.
    • Develop and implement process improvements within the Content team to reduce time and expense, minimize errors, and optimize workflow.
    • Ensure the seamless transition of projects between Content, Creative, Compliance, Product, and Production teams, resolving any issues that arise. 
  • Technology & Workflow Tools:
    • Lead the team in adopting and mastering new technologies and workflow tools that support continuous improvement and accuracy in content management.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, integrating these into the team’s processes to drive efficiencies and maintain high standards. 
  • Strategic Oversight & Special Initiatives:
    • Collaborate with senior management on special initiatives, providing insights and strategic direction to align content operations with broader business objectives.
    • Lead initiatives focused on process efficiency, risk reduction, and tech enabled future readiness, ensuring the team is equipped to handle evolving industry demands. 
  • Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Ensure that all advertising materials meet rigorous standards for accuracy, compliance, and state versioning requirements.
    • Work closely with Compliance and Product teams to ensure that all regulatory and product information is correctly applied to advertising materials.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Act as a liaison between the Content team and other departments, ensuring clear communication, alignment of goals, and efficient problem solving.
    • Manage relationships with external production agencies, ensuring that all materials are produced accurately and on schedule.

 

  • Content is a key component of the advertising development process - really the hub of the advertising creation process.  Content takes in information from the Creative department (partially finalized ad concepts), Compliance dept (regulatory, disclosures information) Product information and changes including state version and applies all this information correctly to advertising concepts to create advertising files that are released to production.

 

  • Role will manage 11 direct reports. In addition, you will manage an active relationship with, our production agency, that works daily with the Content team.

 

  • Ensure that state versions of advertising materials are created accurately, but in an efficient and consistent manner to ease the complexity of adverting production. This regularly entails working through issues and creating compromise positions with Compliance, Creative and the Product teams.

 

  • Ensure the advertising materials leaving the Content team are the materials that will be produced and go live in market. These are multi-million-dollar advertising campaigns creating hundreds of millions of consumer impressions and driving tens of million in sales.

 

  • Lead many of the initiatives focused on process efficiency and risk reduction. This regularly entails engaging in negotiations with the Strategy, Creative and Compliance to blend requirements with efficient processes and ultimately produce advertising that is both accurate and compelling to drive sales.

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, graphics or English preferred.
  • 5+ years' related experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institute required.
  • Skilled in Microsoft office, and familiarity with various graphic design software desirable.
  • Aprimo for campaign routing and archiving experience.
  • High attention to detail; ensure that staff correctly and accurately apply Compliance and Product information to advertising materials and creates the correct and accurate state and product versions of materials; Must understand and blend creative intent into final materials.
  • Creative Content Management experience.
  • Strong Leadership and Management experience.
  • Ability to resolve daily challenges and problems to ensure advertising schedules are met.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  115,000 - 140,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
