JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety Analyst is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating safety risks in the workplace to ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The role involves analyzing data related to incidents and accidents, recommending improvements, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. The Safety Analyst will play a key role in maintaining the safety culture of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a high-risk or recreational environment (e.g., entertainment centers, manufacturing, construction, etc.).
- Preferred certifications include:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification, Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM), or other safety related certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and use data to identify trends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint) and safety management software (Riskonnect, or other RMIS).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Risk Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze safety data, including guest and employee incident reports, near misses, and safety-related injuries, to identify trends, corrective actions, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present safety reports to management, highlighting safety performance, risk trends, outlier/exception reports, and recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents and near misses, determining root causes, tracking remediation efforts, and developing strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed incident reports with findings, corrective actions, and recommendations.
- Work closely with HR, Risk Managers, and legal teams when necessary to ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution of incidents.
Safety Program Development:
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and refinement of guest and employee safety programs and protocols, ensuring they meet compliance and best practice standards.
- Provide input on safety training programs for employees to ensure proper safety practices are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with leadership to integrate safety goals into operational procedures.
Compliance & Regulatory Monitoring:
- Stay updated on the latest safety regulations, codes, and best practices relevant to the business or industry.
- Monitor safety compliance and implement necessary changes in policies, procedures, or equipment to adhere to current regulations.
- Assist in preparing for safety audits by regulatory agencies, ensuring that all compliance documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Track and record OSHA documentation requests and ensure closeout of investigations and remediation of findings
Training & Education:
- Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees, ensuring everyone is equipped with the knowledge to work safely.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety training programs and recommend improvements.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness by engaging with staff and reinforcing the importance of safety in daily operations.
- Liaison with General Managers and District Managers as point of contact for safety inquiries, track and ensure closeout
Equipment and Facility Safety:
- Ensure that safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits, safety barriers, personal protective equipment) is properly maintained and readily available.
- Track changes to attractions to assess impact to operator rules and signage
- Work with the facilities team to ensure that all physical spaces and equipment meet safety standards and are safe for use.
Safety Audits & Inspections:
- Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations to identify potential safety hazards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (such as OSHA) and industry standards.
- Document and report any deficiencies, and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.

Compensation range is $80-90k/yr based on qualifications and experience. Full-time employees at Sky Zone enjoy a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage along with a 401k plan with company matching. Eligibility for 401k is based on age and tenure requirements.
