Job description

Director, Colleague Communications & Engagement, PGS (6-month secondment)  

 

ROLE SUMMARY 

 

The Director, People Experience (PX), Colleague Communications & Engagement, will lead communications for the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) organization and the Chief Global Supply Officer for a six-month secondment. This communicator will develop and execute strategic communications that shape the culture; keep colleagues informed and engaged; and enhance PGS’s ability to meet and exceed its business goals; all in partnership with PX. This will include leader communications, content creation for a variety of PGS internal communication channels, and ongoing partnership with the network of PGS Site Communicators. The role will also lead the colleague communication workstream as part of Pfizer’s Enterprise Margin Acceleration Program (E-MAP). This is a role for a best-in-class writer and editor, who is both a strategic thinker and has strong execution skills, as well as creative energy and the ability to motivate others.

PGS is Pfizer’s largest division and includes all of Pfizer’s internal and external manufacturing and supply chain activities. PGS colleagues work to ensure uninterrupted supply for Pfizer’s entire product portfolio, which includes hundreds of medicines and vaccines – more than 38 billion doses each year. The PGS network includes approximately 30,000 colleagues and contractors and 30+ global manufacturing sites.  

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Lead colleague communications for PGS including the development and execution of colleague engagement and communications strategies that advance the division’s goals and Pfizer’s Purpose Blueprint. Specific duties include:   

  • Provide strategic guidance and communications support to Pfizer’s Chief Global Supply Officer 

  • Design, implement and manage colleague engagement and communications strategies, including culture building and change management, to drive behavioral change and understanding of business priorities, in partnership with PX 

  • Lead the PGS Communications team, which includes colleagues who support the Chief Global Supply Officer and members of the PGS Leadership Team   

  • Create written communications, including leader speeches/talking points, briefing materials, presentations, as well as oversee the creation of video and multi-media assets 

  • Provide editorial oversight for the PGS web site, Yammer, e-signs and other internal communication vehicles 

  • Develop and execute regularly scheduled PGS Global Forums. Design agenda, prep leaders and presenters and coordinate pre- and follow-up-communications 

  • Partner with communications teams across Pfizer to ensure alignment with the company’s overall colleague engagement priorities and to support critical initiatives 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to advance colleague communication and engagement strategies to further connect and engage a diverse global colleague community 

  • Provide strategic communications counsel on initiatives related to organizational design; talent development; culture; diversity, equity and inclusion; colleague experience; compliance and integrity, and other topics 

  • Partner closely with PGS External Communications in support of network strategy, media relations and social media 

   

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field required 

  • 10+ years of internal and/or external communications, consumer/colleague marketing or related experience 

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering communications strategies and plans and managing evolution and change in a complex global organization 

  • Must be a strong leader, an analytical thinker and someone who is comfortable challenging convention 

  • Strong, versatile writer and editor with ability to grasp complex issues and topics, work under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment 

  • Confident, direct client counselor with strong listening and verbal communications skills 

  • Ability to develop global communications materials across diverse audiences and drive messaging across functions 

  • Ability to create alignment across the organization for communications messaging and processes 

  • Ability to proactively make strategic connections across the business and identify opportunities to develop and implement creative communications strategies and solutions 

  • Experience managing internal social media platforms (intranet and Yammer, or similar) 

  • A strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information 

  • Ability to collaborate and lead by influence 

  • Energetic self-starter with impeccable attention to detail 

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
