Job description

Title: Reimbursement Analyst

Location: Hybrid or Remote – Hybrid if local to Earth City, MO

Job ID: 00061732261

Essential Functions

  • Review health plan specific reimbursement policies for compliance with contract or regulatory requirements.
  • Create table-based rules based on health plan disclosures and/or generally recognized reimbursement rules (i.e. CPT, CCI, CMS).
  • Maintain the Claims Reimbursement database. Ensure edit rules and tables are current.
  • Work with other members of the operations unit to support the overall growth of the company.
  • Contribute to the improvement of business processes and communicates ideas effectively.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Familiar with medical/clinical nomenclature

Experience with CPT, CCI, CMS or healthplan plan specific rules for claim payment

Knowledge of healthplan/provider contracting and fee schedules

Competent with Microsoft Excel, and Word

Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Ability to solve problems through research, persistence, and creativity.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Professional Biller (CPB)

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare industry

Desired Experience

  • Healthcare (Health Plan) industry experience preferred.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of management.

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of healthcare contracting and reimbursement policies.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $60K-$65K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
