What are we looking for?
We’re searching for a detail-oriented accountant who excels in delivering consistent, accurate, and high-quality services. You’ll play a key role in supporting the financial health of our properties while honing your expertise in property and corporate accounting.

What are you expected to do?

As an Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Property Accounting:
  • Prepare month-end procedures, including income journals, occupancy and rate journals, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accrual schedules and generate Profit and Loss statements with variance commentary.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheets, GST, and cash flow.
  • Manage key income and expense categories, such as letting fee income and departure cleaning expenses.
  • Invoice contractual service fees and monitor balances for third-party collections.
  • Assist Property Managers with account reviews, annual budgets, and forecasts.
Corporate Accounting:
  • Manage reconciliations for the Australian and New Zealand Community Spirit Program.
  • Process corporate credit cards, reviewing GST claims and GL coding.
  • Review online creditor payments, trust payments, and bond refunds.
  • Provide cover for Accounts Payable Officers and Trust & Treasury Accountants.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and the setup of trust payments.
  • Contribute to ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks for the Finance team.
Occupational Health & Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety obligations under Federal, State, and other relevant legislation.

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You hold a Business (Accounting) degree or equivalent.
  • You bring at least 2-3 years of experience in property and corporate accounting, preferably Australian or Global Accounting
  • You’ve started or are close to achieving CA/CPA Accreditation
  • You have an experience working with bank reconciliations,balance sheets, journals, profit and loss, GST and GL code reviews
  • You have used accounting software like Xero or MYOB
  • You’re proficient in intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • You communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are customer-focused, self-motivated, and thrive in a team environment.
  • You have strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • You excel at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

    What happens after you submit your application?

    The whole process takes around 4 weeks:

    • There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
    • We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
    • If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.
