Mutual of Enumclaw works exclusively with local independent agents to offer insurance products for individuals, families, farms, and businesses. We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana and Wyoming.


 

The Product Development Manager reports to the Director of Product Management and through individual analysis, as well as a partnership with field sales, UW, and claims looks to identify and execute opportunities to improve MOE’s suite of products and coverages to match customer needs and current market conditionsAlso responsible for conducting regular proactive updates of form language, responding to and accounting for market trends, competitor actions, and regulatory/reinsurance actionsThis role will be expected to act as point person, subject matter expert, and project manager for all things related to the knowledge, development, training, review, filing, approval, and maintenance of product language, forms, and coverages. 

 

Location: The successful candidate will work remotely, must be able to work during our core Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours, and must have high-speed internet (internet speed test required)

 

 

Hiring Range: $117,334 - $136,208

Salary Range: $117,334 - $147,570

Responsibilities:
  • Design and socialize a multiyear “product roadmap” with goals for the delivery of new/updated products. 
  • Complete ground-up builds of new products via form language. 
  • Review and refresh existing form language on an ongoing basis. 
  • Partner with sales, underwriting, product managers, and claims, to proactively set up an ongoing structure to identify products/updates that would drive the largest market impact or mitigate the largest potential market risks. 
  • Point person and subject matter expert regarding MOE’s products, forms, and coverages. 
  • Monitor and analyze ISO circulars to determine impact to current forms as well as potential need for new forms.
  • Research market trends to proactively identify potential new products/coverages or necessary adjustments to existing products/coverages to avoid gaps in the marketplace or regulatory exposure. 
  • Design and facilitate training associated with any product launches/updates. 

 

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Thorough understanding of P&C insurance principles and UW practices, standards, and concepts. 
  • Demonstrated comprehension of small commercial and farm products and coverages. 
  • Experience with ISO rules and forms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Advance degree preferred. 
  • ​5+ years of commercial and/or farm product development experience. 
  • Experience drafting and submitting rate, rule, and form filings via SERFF. 
  • Prefer professional insurance designations/coursework such as CPCU, CIC, etc. 
  • Experience with creating and facilitating training within underwriting/product/sales. 
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Advanced, in-depth proficiency with high-quality underwriting service standards. 
  • Advanced, in-depth skills and ability to extract, compile and analyze data from studies and reports. 
  • Highly proficient in organizational, interpersonal, written/verbal/listening communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully perform assignments independently. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
