Position Summary

The Strategic Account Executive (SAE) will work directly with our Broker Partners and Clients to deliver on the overall strategy of the client’s prescription benefit plans. The SAE will be responsible for the service experience and relationship of assigned accounts. This includes serving as a key liaison between the brokers and clients and VerusRx, monitoring of issue resolution, and education for the client and their employees. They are responsible for external communications directly with brokers and clients to maintain strong relations and retention through proactive contact, plan management and review, and timely and accurate response to customer. As the primary point of contact for VerusRx clients, the SAE is responsible for building relationships and coordinating internal and external stakeholders to meet and exceed client expectations. The SAE will work with operations to ensure proper execution in providing clients and members the best possible service and support. Regular onsite meetings with clients will be held to provide brokers and clients with information on their prescription plan and deliver recommendations for cost containment and continuous improvement.  This individual will build and maintain strong and positive client relationships ensuring customer satisfaction, growth and retention for assigned book of business.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Builds and retains relationships with key decision makers at broker and consulting partners and client organizations.
  • Creates plan design strategies that effectively align with the goals of the HR, finance, and the pharmacy teams.
  • Responsible for understanding the client's organization and key contacts, products/services and client initiatives.
  • Listen and translate client needs into clear outcomes that meet expectations and business goals.
  • Manage client renewal process, including participation in development/review of proposal of pricing terms
  • Analyze data, develop reports and presentation materials
  • Establish key internal relationships in order to advocate for client interests and help drive enterprise solutions that meet VerusRx and client priorities; work with Account Manager to ensure member and client service excellence and satisfaction
  • Facilitate client meetings according to the account management principles, including but not limited to: identifying meeting objectives and participants, ensuring adequate preparation and presentation materials, disseminating to appropriate attendees, working across extended teams to ensure appropriate follow through and documentation.
  • Facilitate meetings with brokers and clients to deliver trend analysis and recommendations for plan savings in a consultative manner.
  • Educate brokers and clients on current topics in the industry, new product developments, and the competitive landscape.
  • Identify at-risk accounts and consult with internal partners to assist with development of action plans to address customer risks and opportunities.
  • Escalate high priority or reoccurring issues to the Senior Leadership to ensure resolution. May require running reports, investigating causes and flagging the item for follow up.
  • Remain current with pharmacy and Prescription Benefit Management (PBM) trends, including FDA approvals, recalls, and clinical programs.
  • Support the implementation process for assigned incoming clients.
  • Support and assist in sales and prospect presentations upon request.
  • Support new product and business implementations.
  • Keep all information on accounts accurate and up to date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years in a similar role with experience in a related industry which includes PBM, pharmacy consulting and pharmacy,
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Employee Benefits insurance with an ability to read, analyze and interpret industry policies and contract documents.
  • Knowledge of systems: MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook as well as Salesforce
  • Experience with self-insured employer groups and TPAs is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to use logical methods to address problems and develop effective solutions ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Must have advanced attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and organize information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision.

 

This is a remote role with up to 35% travel required.
