Job Summary

Under the supervision and direction of the Vice President of Ancillary Programs, the Director of Ancillary Programs will oversee Clear Spring Health’s supplemental group benefit program operations. As the Vice President’s primary support, this role is positioned as a key leadership executive and a potential successor to the Vice President.

The Director of Ancillary Programs will bring a deep understanding of the supplemental group insurance industry, along with strategic leadership capabilities, problem-solving acumen, and a commitment to Clear Spring Health’s mission of simplifying healthcare. This position requires managing both internal and offshore staff, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and partnering with external vendors to deliver effective and seamless service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee operations of Clear Spring Health’s supplemental group benefit programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and adherence to the Core Principles.
  • Strategic Leadership: Support the Vice President in setting and implementing objectives, maintaining a focus on simplified healthcare solutions and purpose-driven operations.
  • Team Leadership: Cultivate a supportive environment for both onshore and offshore teams, in line with Clear Spring Health’s commitment to empowering associates and reducing bureaucratic barriers.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Build transparent, trust-based relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure effective, customer-centric program delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments such as product development, sales, marketing, and customer service to promote a seamless, customer-focused experience.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on KPIs, aligning metrics with clear objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate complexity, and drive innovation, contributing to simplicity and operational effectiveness.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Apply critical thinking and creativity to resolve challenges, in alignment with Clear Spring Health’s mission to simplify healthcare.​

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Health Administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MHA) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in supplemental group insurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the supplemental group insurance industry, including regulatory requirements and trends.
  • Leadership & Management Skills: Proven experience in managing diverse teams, including onshore and offshore employees.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with transparency and customer focus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with insurance software.
