Overview:

Business analysts are the drivers of our continued growth and success. The IT Department is currently searching for an experienced business analyst to help guide our organization to the future. From researching progressive systems solutions to evaluating their impacts, the ideal candidate will be a detailed planner, expert communicator, and top-notch analyst. This person should also be wholly committed to the discovery and development of innovative solutions in an ever-changing digital landscape.

 

Objectives of this role

  • Drive awareness of requirements across business units and identify efficiencies that can be achieved through evaluation of real-time data or standardization of processes.
  • Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, developing systems prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
  • Determine and develop business requirements for systems to ensure maximum usability and monitor for future enhancements or improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to develop analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with various teams across the organization.
  • Identify areas where the organization can increase its efficiency and strengthen business processes.
  • Create artifacts, including Business Model Canvas (BMC) documents, to highlight the value proposition per business requests.
  • Develop a structured Business Requirements Document (BRD) describing the business case, expected outcomes and ROI.
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation as required.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and communicate business requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes with other IT teams to ensure delivery of projects and maintenance of systems where needed.
  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized business integration and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
  • Utilize financial information statements, key performance indicators (KPIs) and other key metrics to develop the business case and value proposition.
  • Contribute to the prioritization of active projects based on business goals and objectives using the information compiled in key artifacts.
  • Collaborate with the Solutions and Engineering teams to align project goals and objectives ensuring business requirements are supported with Solution Design Document (SDD).
  • Provide regular status updates on Business Analysis activity and key deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and sense-making skills required. Ability to employ a structured methodology on a consistent basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interact professionally with senior leadership, managers, and subject matter experts in the field.
  • 5-7 years as a functional analyst in Information Technology.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in media or publishing is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement constructs and standards including Six Sigma, SIPOC, BABOK preferred.
  • Strong multi-tasking skill required.
  • JIRA and Confluence skills are a plus.

The salary for this position is $110,000-120,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
