Job Title:  Case Management Supervisor

Department/Program: ORR Home Study and Post Release Services

Reports to: Program Director

Work location: remote office / travel required to sponsor homes

FLSA status: (exempt/salaried)

Salary: Bilingual Spanish: $28.78/hr. - $30.63/hr.

Position/Job Summary:

The Case Manager Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of leading and supervising case management staff in the home study and post release services program, oversees assignment of referrals, and provides a combination of direct service for assigned cases and provides supervision for identified Case Managers.

 

Position/Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Reviews waitlist for home studies and post release services and accepts and assigns referrals to case managers
  • Trains and supervises case managers
  • Submit detailed and thorough documentation in accordance with agency and ORR requirements.
  • Carries a small case load of home studies and post release services
  • Review Notice of Concerns (NOCs), per federal policy requirements.
  • Ensures case file documentation is maintained in accordance with ORR requirements, and conducts internal chart reviews to monitor documentation compliance
  • Participate in team meetings, staff in-service training and department meetings.
  • Completes and signs off on timely and accurate timesheets and other personnel/administrative records as required.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program/department
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.  
  • Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to equity and inclusion in the workplace; model appropriate behaviors; develop, recommend, and implement improvements to business practices with awareness and understanding of the impact in a trauma-informed and culturally diverse organization.

Required Position Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in behavioral sciences or a social services field
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in the fields listed above
  • This requirement may be substituted by a bachelors degree in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus approximately 5 years of relevant employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Must pass a language test in Spanish.
  • Attained age 21 years or older before first day of employment in position (ORR)

Preferred Position Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with immigrant populations
  • Knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare
  • Experience writing professional, thorough assessment reports.
  • ORR experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and agency regulations.
  • Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues, trauma, abuse and neglect, substance abuse and dependence, delinquency, peer influence, and related group and individual interventions.

Other Requirements: 

  • Able to work shift hours and days, as assigned. Position may require work outside of usual work hours on occasion.
  • Occasional travel via airplane and/or car to visit sponsors and clients in their homes
  • Hold a valid drivers’ license and must maintain minimum auto insurance policy for driving a personal vehicle
  • Pass a criminal history background check though Morrison and a suitability determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. For further information review https://www.opm.gov/suitability/suitability-and-credentialing-faqs/  
  • Proof of Vaccination (MMR, Varicella, DTap & Influenza annually)
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid required
  • 40 hours of required training per year

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Visual acuity allowing for analysis of written data.
  • Manual dexterity allowing for operation of routine office equipment (computers, telephone, fax, copy machine, typewriter, calculator, etc.)
  • Physical dexterity allowing for reaching, stooping, and repetitive motion of wrist, hand or fingers.
  • Ability to remain calm and emotionally available in an environment serving youth who have experienced trauma.
