Job Title: M&A Financial Analyst

 

Position Summary:

 

Magna Legal Services is seeking a highly skilled M&A Financial Analyst to support, manage, and execute the pre-close business and financial diligence for acquisition entities. Working under the direct guidance of the Head of M&A team and Senior M&A Associate (along with the Integration and Operations team), this role requires collaboration across all divisions, including deposition services, medical record retrieval, litigation consulting, investigations, and service of process, as well as any new business lines that Magna decides to enter.

 

The Analyst will ensure that diligence processes foster strong relationships with M&A targets, ensures the targets align with Magna’s strategic objectives, enhance company culture, and make newly acquired entities and their employees feel part of Magna’s broader mission and team. A key focus will be delivering initial business and financial diligence reports for all core service line add-ons.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform buy-side financial and business due diligence projects, including quality of earnings analysis, financial modeling, and KPI/business metric analysis.
  • Help Magna realize the potential of our mergers and acquisitions via integration and synergies analysis.
  • Perform financial due diligence on key areas of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Formulate questions and propose basic adjustments based on the identification of key risks and business drivers.
  • Lead analysis on key operational data, net working capital, debt, and debt-like items.
  • Lead initial drafts of reports (including Quality of Earnings reports) for Magna’s mergers and acquisitions that highlight the key financial findings of potential investments as well as the drivers behind sustainable profits and cash flows
  • Team with Magna’s management on proposals and business development calls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required. Advanced degree is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level required.
  • Solid experience in the following: accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.
  • Strong current knowledge in US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, transaction advisory services or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing organization.
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Can travel as needed (up to 20%).

 

 

Compensation: USD $90,000 - $100,000

 

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
