This Tax Amendment Specialist is responsible for serving as the tax amendment specialist to prepare and file amended tax filing returns and/or pay additional taxes based on customer Workday adjustments and/or OSV mass events of incorrect original filings. The objective is to ensure we file and pay based on Workday payrolls processed for U.S. taxes/wages.

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Research original tax filings and prior period adjustments
  • Analysis of original payment history
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local amended tax reports
  • File and pay amended tax filing timely and accurately based on Workday data
  • Remit on behalf of the customer the amended tax filing and payments (if applicable)
  • Provide tax services support by responding to and researching tax inquiries
  • Frequent communication with customers to obtain approval of amended filing and/or questions customers may have related to the filing
  • Communication with jurisdictional agencies
  • Responsible for quarterly tax balancing and filing of tax returns in tax jurisdictions
  • Provides tax knowledge to clients and/or internal organization
  • Ensure that the appropriate action was taken that complies with the tax authority requirement
  • Analysis of tax/payroll data on the employer and employee level of inspecting, transforming with the goal of discovering suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making   
  • Responsible for collecting data and analyzing data – running various mathematical calculations to determine how the data will determine the best solution               
  • Utilizes systems, various documents, and reports to identify and correct errors accurately and within established deadlines

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year+ Customer Account experience  
  • 1 year+ Payroll Tax experience
  • CPP/FPC Certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Skills

  • Associates Degree
  • Workday Certified
  • Payroll outsourcing experience       
  • Payroll and Tax experience of regulations
  • Experience in BNA preparation of tax filings
