Position Overview:

The Principal Product Manager (Document Verification) will lead the strategy and execution of Socure's Document Verification (DocV) product, a critical component of our identity verification and fraud prevention portfolio. This role requires a technical leader with deep expertise in document verification, identity technologies, and SDK development. You will own the product roadmap, work closely with cross-functional teams, and shape the future of DocV to maintain Socure's leadership position in the industry.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Document Verification, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and industry trends.

  • Technical Requirements: Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science to translate product vision into detailed technical requirements, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, scalability, and seamless integration.

  • Feature Prioritization: Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact, customer feedback, and technical feasibility, ensuring timely delivery of value to customers.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering seamless communication and alignment between Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other key stakeholders.

  • Customer Engagement: Partner directly with customers to gather insights, validate product concepts, and ensure DocV effectively addresses real-world identity verification challenges.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of Document Verification, using data-driven decisions to optimize product performance.

  • Market Analysis: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and ensure Socure remains at the forefront of identity verification and fraud prevention.

  • Risk Management: Identify and proactively address potential risks in product development and deployment to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.

  • Product Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive product documentation, ensuring clarity for internal teams and external customers.
     

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in product management, with a focus on technical products in identity verification, fraud prevention, or computer vision-based systems.

  • SDK Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of both mobile and web SDKs, including their implementation differences.

    • Experience leveraging native SDKs to extract maximum value and optimizing web SDKs with limited signals.

    • Proven track record of simplifying SDK integration processes to enhance customer adoption and ease of use.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Experience in developing and scaling document verification products or similar computer vision technologies.

    • Deep understanding of OCR, image processing, and document forensics to ensure high verification accuracy.

  • Engineering and API Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of APIs, with the ability to write queries, extract data, analyze it, and draw insights to make informed decisions.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in identifying insights from complex datasets to inform product improvements.

  • Machine Learning Understanding:

    • Familiarity with machine learning models and their applications to document verification and fraud detection.

    • Experience optimizing models for relevant signals within the DocV product to improve accuracy and efficiency.

  • Data Science Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working with data science teams to integrate and optimize machine learning models within a product.

  • Scalability: Expertise in designing products that scale to accommodate diverse document types and high transaction volumes while maintaining performance and accuracy.

  • Customer Focus: Proven track record of engaging with customers to understand their needs and drive product enhancements based on feedback, resulting in improved user experiences. 

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across all levels. Ability to navigate challenging conversations with customers, particularly around model governance and performance, and explain SDK concepts in an accessible manner.

Salary Disclosure:
Base Salary range: $160,000 - $210,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity,  comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
