Algolia provides the industry’s most powerful search and discovery SaaS platform, driving richer, more powerful engagement and success capabilities to over 17,000 companies.   We are seeking a Principal of Competitive Intelligence to join our passionate Product Marketing team to help sales share clearly why we win.

This role involves leading our efforts in competitive analysis to help position how we win. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the digital experience, search, or commerce landscapes as well as a proven track record in competitive intelligence or strategic market analysis.

Your role will consist of:
  • Conducting Research: in-depth competitive research and analysis across various markets, identifying trends, threats, and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Technical teams: We often need to position technical capabilities into business benefits.
  • Analyzing Competitors: Monitor and analyze competitors’ product offerings, sales tactics, and marketing strategies to identify potential threats or opportunities.
  • Frequently communicating with sellers: Through a balanced cadence of team updates and enablement paths
  • Leveraging Compete Tools: Develop and maintain a comprehensive competitive intelligence database to track competitor movements, market dynamics, and changes in the regulatory environment.

  • Engaging Multiple Stakeholders: Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to translate intelligence into strategic initiatives and tactical plans.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare and present regular competitive intelligence reports and dashboards to senior management, providing insights that drive decision-making.
You Might Be A Fit If You Have:

  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in using competitive intelligence software to gather and analyze data.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis, preferably in the digital experience, commerce or search sub-sectors.

  • TRUST - Willingness to trust our co-workers and to take ownership

ABOUT US:

Algolia prides itself on being a pioneer and market leader offering an AI Search solution that empowers 17,000+ businesses to compose customer experiences at internet scale that predict what their users want with blazing fast search and web browse experience. Algolia powers more than 30 billion search requests a week – four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex and DuckDuckGo combined.

Algolia is part of a cadre of innovative new companies that are driving the next generation of software development, creating APIs that make developers’ lives easier; solutions that are better than building from scratch and better than having to tweak monolithic SaaS solutions.

In 2021, the company closed $150 million in series D funding and quadrupled its post-money valuation of $2.25 billion. Being well capitalized enables Algolia to continue to invest in its market leading platform, to better serve its thousands of customers–including Under Armor, Petsmart, Stripe, Gymshark, and Walgreens, to name just a few.
