Overview:
AUSTIN, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - North Austin family is seeking a PART-TIME NANNY/HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANT. The family has two older children (11 and 16) and is laid-back, organized, entrepreneurial, and creative. They are seeking a professional and experienced candidate who understands how to keep the household running and is looking to support the family for years to come.
The hours are 7am-11am Monday – Friday. Both parents work from home and have housekeepers who come every other week. No travel with the family is expected but candidate may be asked to dog/house sit while the family is on vacation.
Duties include helping children out the door in the morning (packing lunches, filling water bottles, etc.), laundry for the household, light housework, loading/unloading the dishwasher, running errands, and coordinating with other household vendors (lawn care, house cleaners, etc.).
This role requires flexibility and a candidate who understands how to support the household and can anticipate the needs of the household. The family has a friendly, energetic, 8-year-old Goldendoodle so candidates should love animals and not have any pet allergies. Pet care includes ensuring the dog has food/water, taking the dog to the pet groomer/vet as needed, and regular 20+ minute walks. Candidates should have reliable transportation to and from work, however, the family will provide a vehicle for the nanny to use while working.
The perfect candidate has 3+ years of experience as a nanny and household manager, and is energetic, positive, and computer literate as this household runs on Google Calendar.
Candidates should have a familiarity or willingness to learn principles of gentle parenting, attachment parenting, child psychology, and an understanding of basic Montessori educational principles (focus on fostering independence in children, explaining “why,” following the children’s natural curiosity, etc.) is a must. The Nanny should be open/physically able to care for infants in the event that our family grows in the near future.
Benefits include 20 days of PTO (inclusive of sick days, vacation, and holidays). The projected start date is January 1st 2025. Pay is $25/hr gross via payroll commensurate based on experience.
