Position Overview:

Atwell is seeking an Associate Director of Power and Energy with a focus on the Solar PV market to join our dynamic team. As a key leader in our renewable energy division, you will play a pivotal role in managing utility-scale solar projects and leading a team of skilled engineers to successful project outcomes. This is a client-facing role requiring exceptional project management, team leadership, and technical expertise in Solar PV. Join us as we drive the future of renewable power generation, supporting projects across Solar, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage utility-scale Solar PV projects from inception to successful completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards
  • Serve as the main client contact, building strong, collaborative relationships and addressing project needs effectively
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of technical engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure optimal project performance
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Power and Energy – Solar PV, aligning project strategies with company goals
  • Work in partnership with the broader Power Generation team to support projects across Solar, Wind, and BESS sectors, contributing expertise and cross-functional support as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience, PE highly preferred
  • Extensive experience in the Solar PV market, particularly in managing utility-scale solar projects
  • Strong client-facing skills and experience managing complex, large-scale projects
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing technical teams
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
