Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Analyst reports to the VP of Revenue Cycle. Under general supervision, the Revenue Cycle Analyst collaborates with systems analysts, accountants and greater Information Solutions team members, Quality team members, stakeholders, and leaders across the enterprise to support decision making, strategy, performance improvement, and other key operational goals through valid, relevant, and quality decision support reports, dashboards, business plans and other business intelligence tools. This role assists in the development and maintenance of analytical resources for the organization to support leadership in strategic decision making and ongoing optimization of organizational performance. This position’s work environment is hybrid/remote.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize available systems and methodologies to provide decision support for the organization’s business planning and analysis requirements. This would include information about costs of hospital services, product line profitability, department productivity, as well as quality metrics and benchmarks, denial data analysis, and payer performance.
• Assist in projects involving analytics to improve and optimize organizational performance.
o Maintain documentation and progress updates for project planning and tracking.
o Assist team members to identify and gather detailed business requirements.
o Maintain timely communication and collaboration with other team members, leadership, and customers.
• Work closely with IS/IT resources to facilitate data analytics to support system enhancements.
• High Quality Customer Service: Provide consistent high quality customer service for all projects, initiatives and requests from stakeholders.
o Provide timely and professional communications throughout the request-to-delivery production cycle.
o Ensure deliverables are well-tested, accurate, and reliable.
o Function in a thoughtful consultative approach that ensures effectiveness of requirements gathering, integration of actively-solicited intermediate feedback during development, and solutions that assist our stakeholders in accomplishing the ultimate goals underlying their request.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration or a closely related field (accounting, information systems). Certified Public Accountants with at least 4 years of healthcare experience or individuals with a Masters degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field with at least 2 years of demonstrated financial analysis experience would be considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years of related experience required (business intelligence, analytics, report writing).
- Experience with healthcare industry benchmarking and developing metrics within a performance management framework; Familiarity with Meditech, eCW, Power BI and other analytical software tools desired.
- EPIC experience required (Minimum of ?? years)
Special Skills:
- Must be able to demonstrate solid analytical skills in terms of ability to identify needed data, analyze the data, and report it in a format that is easily comprehensible to customers.
- Ability to incorporate data analysis and details into a business plan including appropriate financial statements and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal; client relations; fact finding; analytical; project management; presentation and communication (written/verbal) skills are needed.
- Experience working with analytical, visualization, business intelligence reporting tools preferred.
- Impeccable presentation skills and the proven ability to tailor messages appropriately dependent on the specific audience.
- Possess communication and presentation skills such that complex ideas presented are easily understood by those who do not have a financial or healthcare background
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of data warehouse software (i.e. PowerBI, Tableau)
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS SSMS, MS Access, MS SSRS Report Writer, and SQL transactional query.
- Demonstrated advanced competency with MS Excel spreadsheets (i.e., pivot tables, Excel VBA programming)
- Experience with healthcare industry benchmarking and developing metrics within a performance management framework; Familiarity with Meditech and Premier’s Software Suite is highly desirable.
- Proactively seeks opportunity to learn about the operations of the organization and translate knowledge to analysis in order to identify potential process and/or financial improvements.
