Job description

Our legal staffing company is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Discovery Clerk to join our client's dynamic law firm. This is a 100% remote position offering the opportunity to work with a reputable firm specializing in [client's area of practice, e.g., civil litigation, personal injury, corporate law].

As a Legal Discovery Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing discovery-related tasks, ensuring compliance with legal procedures, and supporting the firm's attorneys and paralegals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, review, and manage discovery documents, including electronic files.
  • Assist in the preparation, formatting, and organization of discovery requests, responses, and related correspondence.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of subpoenas, interrogatories, and document production requests.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Maintain meticulous records of discovery progress, ensuring deadlines are tracked and met.
  • Support attorneys and paralegals in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials by organizing and summarizing discovery materials.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in discovery documents or processes.
  • Stay updated on legal discovery procedures and technology tools relevant to the position.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in legal discovery or a related role, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery tools and procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

Requirements:

  • High-speed internet and a quiet, professional workspace for remote work.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Availability to work standard business hours in the client's time zone.
