The role
As a Nuclear Standards and Procedure Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will include conducting Nuclear Standards Inspections and produce Nuclear Procedures ensuring tasks are delivered safely on time, to specification and within an agreed budget.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure close liaison with all key stake holders throughout.
- Assist the Senior Nuclear Standards Inspector in maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of all the section’s resource.
- Conduct of Nuclear Standards Inspections and production of Nuclear Procedures.
- Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company’s cost, time and quality requirements.
- Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Nuclear Standards and Procedures area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
- Assist the PAG chairman in the management of the PAG
This role is full time, 37 hours per week with a half day on Friday and is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, Faslane near Helensburgh.
Essential experience of the Nuclear Standards and Procedure Engineer
- Experience in a nuclear based environment would be advantageous
- Experience of regulatory requirements and quality assurance
- Experience and comfortability with stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of Submarine systems and equipment would be desirable but not essential
Qualifications for the Nuclear Standards and Procedure Engineer
- Time Served Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Inspection Sectors

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
