Position Overview
The Supervisor, Systems Engineering supports the mission of OCHIN by leading, training, and motivating the Systems Engineering team to achieve positive outcomes and continuously add value to the OCHIN collaborative. This work entails managing projects, prioritizing work providing feedback, managing performance, identifying, and mitigating risks, and ensuring high quality service to the OCHIN collaborative. The Supervisor, Systems Engineering will continually assess and make improvements to systems and processes to increase efficiency while judiciously managing the resources of OCHIN and our Members (Service Areas). The Systems Engineering is responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems related hardware, operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, configuration changes, system performance, networking, and other technologies as described required.
Essential Duties
- Lead, motivate, develop, and support a team of System Engineers to meet both organizational and member needs
- Support the Director, IT Systems in ensuring production infrastructure meets all service level commitments.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure timelines and deliverables are realistic and actionable.
- Plan effective learning deliverables for annual forums and applicable conferences to nurture partner learning.
- Ensure new staff are on-boarded in a measured manner that prepares them for success.
- Manage projects, programs, and work activities of the Systems Engineering team, ensuring deliverables are met on time and on budget
- Track and measure team, project, and individual performance goals.
- Work with team to identify, document, and implement potential process improvements.
- Review, define, and support process improvements.
- Ensure team members have the support they need to succeed; provide individual guidance, seek out information, and facilitate relationships to ensure team members’ support needs are met
- Participate in long-term systems architecture planning
- Work with IT to provide periodic SQL licensing audit compliance reports and forecasting
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s or equivalent relevant combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in related field preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive growth in field; (3) years of Supervisory or leadership role within a dynamic enterprise infrastructure team preferred.
- Demonstrated participation in budgetary and infrastructure design
- Experience with cloud hosted services such as AWS and Azure preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in the Health Care industry highly preferred.
- Ability to support a fast-paced growing organization.
- Successful leadership abilities with the focus on bringing people together to execute projects and deliverables.
- Strong communication skills –speaking and delivering messages clearly as well as listening and understanding other’s needs
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills (i.e., using sound judgment regarding when to delegate tasks and when to roll up one’s sleeves and work with the team to get it done)
- Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, W/LAN connectivity, Active Directory enterprise automation and/or process automation preferred
- Working understanding of VMware and Citrix Xenserver preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL, IIS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and CIFS.
- Ability to travel on occasion to data centers in Utah or Oregon.

Work Location and Travel Requirements
OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview
The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
