Conifer’s summer internship kicks off on June 3rd with a special two-day event for all our interns in the Northeast, located at our Corporate Offices in Rochester NY.  Our orientation will provide our summer interns with exposure and engagement to our various corporate functions and departments, as well as professional development training to enhance the summer internship experience.

OVERVIEW

The Financial Analyst Intern is responsible for projects and organizational support for the Portfolio Management team. 


RESPONSIBILITIES will include but not be limited to:

•Assist with analyzing and interpretation of complex financial statements (profit and loss, income, credit, and loan documents, construction agreements, legal and organizational documents, etc.)

•Assist with financial analysis related to acquisition of limited partnership interests and dispositions.

•Assist with the evaluation of equity and debt options.

•Communicate and follow up regarding lenders and investors activities.

•Assist in obtaining required approvals.

•Coordinate due diligence process with other departments.

•Track and prepare reports regarding progress of finance activity.

•Assist with overall project schedules for finance, design, approvals, and construction. 

•Perform all other Asset Management job-related duties, projects as assigned.

•Data entry of data into specific asset management databases.


EDUCATION/TRAINING

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or other related real estate management desired.  

• Advanced degree or coursework in progress for real estate development, planning with a focus on housing industry desired.

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required.


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: 

Candidates must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, personal motivation, and distinguished written and verbal communication skills. 

•2+ year’s relevant real estate financial educational studies. 

•Knowledge of multifamily real estate 

•Affordable Housing financial experience not required but preferred.

•Strong MS Office software skills, including high proficiency in Excel and Power Point.

•Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, entrepreneurial work ethic. 

•A curiosity and desire to learn and improve.

•Preferred – experience analyzing property documents – financial statements, legal agreements, government regulations, physical needs assessment, etc.


Education/ Training:

•Graduate Degree in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or Economics or equivalent work experience and some college. 


The hourly range for this position is $18.00 for an Undergraduate Candidate and $22.00-25.00 for a Graduate Candidate   The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc.  This range also does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
