Your Role
The candidate will be responsibility for planning, execution, and management of complex projects and complex field programs. This position requires the ability to evaluate chemical distribution and transport through soils, groundwater, surface water, and sediment to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings in project reports using text, figures, graphs, etc. Candidate will plan, conduct, and supervise tasks such as pilot tests and treatability studies, engineering designs, construction oversight, operation, and maintenance (O&M), and report writing on projects. Candidate will also manage scope, schedule and budget for assigned projects. They will perform components of projects in accordance with appropriate state and federal regulations. This will require reviews of progress and evaluation of results. The candidate will assist and/or lead in the preparation of proposals and deliverables.

- Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desired. PMP Certification a plus.
- Fundamental understanding of sampling environmental media, which may include groundwater, soil, sediment, air, or biological tissue, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and develop both written technical documents and tabular presentation of data is required.
- Experience with assessment and cleanup governed by CERCLA on Federal projects highly desired.
- Experience in working on PFAS investigation and/or treatment projects.
- Proven ability to assist and/or lead preparation of key proposals and deliverables.
- An understanding of future industry trends, strategic planning processes, and demonstrated success translating those to effective sales tactics.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is preferred. Other OSHA training is desirable.
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s License in good standing.
- Capable of performing fieldwork and traveling to conduct or oversee field activities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Master’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of directly related professional experience with increasing responsibility in the environmental restoration consulting market (advanced degree may serve as 1 year of experience).
- Fundamental understanding of Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, Physical-Chemical Processes, Process Design, Chemical Kinetics, and Transport Processes.
- Knowledge of PFAS treatment technologies required and experience preferred.

Successful candidate will support field investigations that could potentially require the following: Performing strenuous fieldwork under a variety of site and adverse weather conditions; standing, crouching and sitting to facilitate operation of the equipment and collecting samples; moving earth via shovels or hand augers; lifting of pumps, other remediation equipment, cases containing equipment, sample coolers and other items weighing between 1 and 50 pounds; and potential exposure to natural (e.g., poison ivy), physical and chemical hazards. Ability to perform and maintain rigorous detailed documentation of field activities. Field work often involves extended hours on site. Candidate must be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid drivers’ license in good standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment described herein is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. A reasonable level of out-of-office travel based on project responsibilities, requirements, and client needs may be required. Position requires the ability to work under pressure or deadlines and to work overtime, as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position requires the individual to drive either a rental car or his/her own car while performing their job from time to time. Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle. Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. Travel via air is also required.

Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Candidates should be fluent in the English language and possess excellent verbal/written communication skills. Candidates must be able to professionally interact with clients, subcontractors, professionals, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Applicants should possess the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
OTHER SKILLS: Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidates must possess ability to resolve conflicts and provide solutions in a professional manner. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent self-start/leadership skills, and be client focused. Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
