This position is part of Novanta’s Global Supply Chain team, which collaborates with all business units to support initiatives that drive the company’s strategic mission and operational and financial success.
Job Summary
The Senior Analyst and Project Lead conducts financial analyses to support global Supply Chain decision-making. This role collaborates with Supply Chain, Operations, IT, Finance, and Quality leaders to develop strategic plans, forecasts, and results. Responsibilities include analyzing and reporting supplier performance, creating KPI reports, managing SAT and Supplier Scorecards, and identifying improvement opportunities. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining financial and operational models to guide decisions and track performance against expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
- You will collect, analyze, and report monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI results for Novanta’s supply chain spend and performance.
- You will collaborate with global supply chain, finance, quality, IT and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and drive continuous improvement.
- You will enhance the current Supplier Scorecard process using advanced analytics to enhance communication and supplier performance.
- You will set up the annual baseline process in SAT, including material productivity, structural improvement KPI and PPI Bowler.
- You will manage the monthly SAT categorizations clean-up and update the SAT baseline as needed. Additionally, you will address any help, issues, or modifications related to SAT.
- You will support short- and long-term planning with financial analysis and reporting tools for supplier productivity, risk tracking, and performance.
- You will partner with the Vice President of Supply Chain to create financial models for business initiatives, including sourcing, supplier performance, price increases, and make-or-buy decisions.
- You will lead regular meetings to ensure timely and accurate data collection, aligning with Monthly or Quarterly Operating Reviews.
- You will maintain live data for commodity strategy documentation with ERP, vendor data, and supply chain groups.
- You will improve the central Supply Chain intranet/SharePoint for key documents and project management.
- You will collaborate with external data providers to build and share reports across the organization.
- You will perform other tasks assigned by the manager.
Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
- Proficient in Excel VBA, Microsoft Office, Oracle, Power BI, SQL, and other analytical tools.
- Familiar with key supply chain metrics and processes (e.g., Supplier Scorecard, PPV & PPI, Inflation/Deflation, OTD, DIO, DPPM etc.).
- Basic understanding of compliance requirements (Conflict Minerals, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, CA Prop 65).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a center-led supply chain function within a global manufacturing organization.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a drive to understand financial metric discrepancies.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective collaboration and business partnering skills, supporting both supply chain and other functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of data, databases, and data manipulation techniques.

- Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials
