We are seeking an experienced Workspace Services Engineer with deep expertise in Google Workspace and Slack to manage and support the end-user environment for our fully remote workforce. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the collaboration tools used across the organization, while also providing technical support for end-user machines, including Windows, Mac, and Linux devices. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing both collaboration platforms and end-user IT support.

Responsibilities:
  • Google Workspace & Slack Management: Configure, maintain, and optimize Google Workspace and Slack environments, ensuring seamless access and collaboration for all remote users.
  • End-User Support: Provide expert technical support for remote users on a variety of platforms, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, addressing issues related to system performance, access, and device management.
  • User Account Management: Manage user accounts and permissions within Google Workspace and Slack, ensuring proper access controls, group memberships, and security policies are enforced.
  • Collaboration Tool Integration: Work to improve the integration between Google Workspace and Slack, ensuring smooth workflows and optimizing for productivity.
  • Remote IT Support: Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for remote users, assisting them with installations, configurations, and upgrades for their machines, including device-specific support for Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure that Google Workspace, Slack, and end-user devices comply with security policies and best practices, including device management and secure data handling.
  • Device Management: Implement remote monitoring and management tools for ensuring that end-user devices (Windows, macOS, Linux) are secure, up-to-date, and running smoothly.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Support the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring that new hires are set up with appropriate access to Google Workspace, Slack, and other necessary tools, and that departing employees are securely deprovisioned.
  • User Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs and user documentation to help employees navigate Google Workspace, Slack, and their devices effectively.
  • Automation and Scripting: Where applicable, implement automation scripts or processes to streamline common tasks like user provisioning, device management, and application deployment.

  • Requirements:
  • Education: Relevant certifications such as Google Workspace Administrator, Slack Administrator, CompTIA ITF, or similar are a plus.
  • Experience: 
  • Hands-on experience with Google Workspace and Slack administration, including user and group management, settings configuration, and integration of third-party apps.
  • Strong experience providing remote IT support for users across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with remote device management and monitoring tools for managing Windows, Mac, and Linux devices.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and compliance standards related to cloud-based collaboration platforms and end-user device management.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across time zones and geographies.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and effective support to users across various technical skill levels.
