Overview:
The Digital Solutions team is seeking a Practice Area Lead (PAL) for Application Development (App Dev) that will drive LMI priorities and vision around enterprise software development. The new PAL will be responsible for developing a strategy for their area of responsibility that aligns with our Digital and Analytical Solutions Service Line priorities. In addition, this role will be supporting business development and growth as well as talent management within their practice area.
Within the Digital Solutions team, the scope of responsibility will include all Software Development resources including front-end, back-end, and full stack developers. The App Dev PAL will lead practice area activities for software development and related services which includes all software development and integration, implementation of software factories, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and deployment activities in cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments. The Lead will report directly to the Digital Solutions Vice President.
Responsibilities:
The App Dev PAL role includes the following activities:
- Capability Maturation & Strategy
o Develop PA strategy and support Digital Solutions strategy to assist in executing goals
o Create, update, and/or document solutions, offerings, methodologies, and capabilities that align to the PA and resonate with market trends and/or client challenges (e.g. SDMs, methodologies, models, etc.)
o Coordinate across LMI to ensure PA capabilities are well known throughout LMI and meeting the needs of LMI’s customers
o Continuously improve existing capabilities and develop new capabilities within PA to stay in front of a rapidly evolving and digitally-enabled marketplace
o Provide solutioning, capture, and proposal support to all LMI markets
o Develop sales enablement materials to support PA growth
o Screen RFIs/RFPs for potential action and lead/coordinate response for the sub-service Line
o Review, maintain, and coordinate with markets to update pipeline opportunities related to the Practice Area or coordinate updates with the Business Development POC
o Support markets/growth in partner identification for opportunities
- Community Mentorship and Development
o Manage and develop talent within the PA
o Manage the hiring process for talent demands within the PA (create, review, and approve requisitions)
o Conduct interviews for demand requirements and coordinate with Service Line Director on hiring/staffing decisions
o Assist Resource Managers and Service Line Director with staff redeployments and internal mobility
o Mature the PA bench by identifying and mentoring subject matter experts and emerging talent and maintaining awareness of desired growth areas of staff within PA
o Help identify the best approaches to improve the professional skills of Practice Area members to include certifications, degrees, professional organizations, and work experience
o Provide input and support to Practice Area staff on Performance 365 goals and calibrations
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in management consulting or federal government service, executing IT product and service delivery
- 5+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps for Agile deployments in both cloud and virtual on-prem environments
- Masters of Business Administration, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Agile development, cloud architecture, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), automated testing, and security best practices
- Ability to lead, nurture, and develop people in an effective way with positive impacts to both the employee and LMI
- Ability to understand and align competing work priorities and outcomes with internal partners (e.g., service line and/or market)
