Job Description

Summary: 

Provides overall direction and guidance to the Sales, Account Management and Client Services functionality of the 340B Holdings’ organization with the objective of maximizing growth, profitability and service delivery to clients and pharmacies.  Serves as member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for overall 340B Holdings Strategy Development and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible as a senior leader for business plan strategy development and execution
  • Develops and motivates a high performing team of sales, account management executives, and client services team members to drive business growth through new client development, existing client expansion, and client retention.
  • Develops strategies to grow the sales and existing client pipeline
  • Develops and motivates a Client Services team serving client support, application support, and business analysts related to client service delivery
  • Develops product and program strategies to ensure market leading position and attainment of business plan growth and profitability
  • Senior leader responsible for overseeing the technical liaison team responsible for post-sales support, maintenance of business support, product implementation other technology related needs.
  • Champions service excellence within 340B Holdings and MedImpact
  • Implements improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
  • Leads alignment of new business, client retention and client services integrated service delivery approach to ensure Business Partners’ contractual obligations are met
  • Leads new business solicitation & contracting process to ensure federal regulations and business requirements are obtained, and to grow and retain the company’s business.
  • Responsible for supporting members of operations teams to build long-term and tactical relationships with clients and developing and implementing strategic business plans to ensure clients’ satisfaction, account growth and ultimately client retention
  • Oversees client development team directly responsible for client management services related to financial payment and reporting on behalf of 340B
  • Develops and retains key Business Partner relationships existing as a distribution channel for 340B and non-340B services
  • Leads and develops team responsible for performing 360o review of account, from operational service delivery, benefit setup and administration to relationship management.  Identify gaps and sources of corrective action to ensure milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with other leaders across MedImpact to drive success
  • Collaborate with MedImpact Marketing leadership to develop 340B Holdings Marketing Plan, message and support functions
  • Collaborate with MedImpact and lead SUNRx in the development of the  RFP functional process and execution within 340B Holdings
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinate management and other departmental employees
  • Motivate and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management within the business unit, subsidiary, and the enterprise.
  • Assure that contract deliverables are met on a timely basis. Monitors contract performance standards and guarantees.
  • Moderate level of travel

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal and external leadership role with client facing responsibilities that require strategic/visionary thinking, excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written), and negotiation skills.  One must be able to; Manage difficult or complex client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Education and/or Experience                                            

Master’s degree preferred or equivalent and 15+ years’ related experience in the position duties listed; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry experience required and experience working with large key account management. 12+ years of previous experience managing and/or supervising a staff with responsibility for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced skill set in Visio and MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certification (current or historical) in selling skills, and public speaking development

Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                    

Superior working knowledge of “PBM” or other managed healthcare services to national and regional managed care organizations, insurance companies, and other health related entities.  Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication and group presentation skills.    Rely on extensive prior experience within the Pharmacy Benefit Management industry and HMOs as well as business judgment to plan and accomplish goals.    Demonstrate ability to meet or exceed the competencies as listed below.

  • Outstanding knowledge of the health benefits arena, government prescription programs, preferably in pharmacy benefits management.
  • Consultative selling and negotiation skills
  • Strong computer and analytic skills, including experience creating and delivering client presentations using MS Office programs and use of client databases
  • Knowledge of healthcare products and contracts preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation, persuasion and consulting skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license and required level of car insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven skills in mentoring, coaching and training employees

Reasoning Ability                                                    

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills                                                 

  • Ability to understand apply P& L information to day-day attainment of budget forecast
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Language Skills                                           

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring one to work the hours needed to get the job done.  Therefore one must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required.  This may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel

This position requires domestic travel of up to 35% of the time.
