Description

MedBridge is a leading provider of sleep laboratory management services and sleep therapy. We partner with hospitals and physician practices to offer comprehensive fully-integrated services for patient identification, testing, diagnosis, treatment and long-term care management of patients with sleep disorders. 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-time Billing Accounts Specialist (Remote) with 1–2 years of experience in a medical billing environment. The role involves reviewing outstanding insurance claims, updating and re-billing as necessary, and ensuring compliance with billing regulations such as the "No Surprise Act." Responsibilities include verifying claim accuracy, handling patient inquiries, processing adjustments, and working with payers to resolve denials and appeals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of EOBs, experience with both commercial and government payors, and a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.

**Must live in the following states and be on EST: DE, FL, GA, MD, NC, NJ, OH, or SC

Responsibilities will include but not limited:

  • Review outstanding insurance claims and contact carriers for resolution prior to patient billing
  • Interpret and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
  • Contact patients for updated insurance information as needed
  • Ensure compliance with the "No Surprise Act" and prepare required estimates
  • Update and re-bill claims as appropriate; review and appeal rejected claims
  • Process necessary adjustments, refund requests, and account revisions
  • Work with payers to file and follow up on appeals, denials, and zero-pay claims
  • Handle claims across all payors, including commercial and government insurance
  • Respond to and resolve patient billing inquiries; accept payments over the phone
  • Make outbound calls to address account issues and updates
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information
  • Verify accuracy of medical bills and invoices against the accounts receivable ledger
  • Follow medical and insurance claim protocols to support accurate billing and financial close processes
  • Perform collections research and recommend actions as needed
  • Adhere to company attendance and punctuality policies

 Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision
  • 1–2 years’ experience in medical accounts receivable
  • 1 - 2 years' experience with Microsoft Excel
  • 20 - 25 hours per week

Location:

  • 90 Day Probation Period: No missed days, no leave earlies, no late starts
