Director of New Business - APAC, Global Business Development

About the Opportunity:
Join Shutterstock’s Global Business Development team as the Director of New Business for the APAC region. In this strategic role, you will lead the growth and sales of our innovative products, specifically focusing on data licensing and Generative AI (GenAI) API solutions. You will provide strategic insights into the APAC market, make recommendations on aligning our business operations with regional strategies, and play a key role in identifying and closing new partnerships. 

The Day-to-Day:

Market Strategy Development: Craft and implement comprehensive market strategies tailored to the unique dynamics of the APAC region, positioning Shutterstock as a leader in data licensing and GenAI solutions.

Team Leadership and Coaching: Act as a player/coach, guiding and mentoring the regional business development team while also actively participating in high-stakes client engagements and negotiations.

Partnership Identification: Proactively identify potential clients and strategic partners, leveraging your industry insights to build a strong pipeline of opportunities that drive revenue growth.

Account Expansion: Lead the expansion of key strategic accounts by nurturing deep, trusted relationships, understanding their unique needs, and aligning our offerings to maximize value.

Channel Strategy and Support: Identify and select partners across the region, providing them with the tools and strategies necessary to effectively promote and sell Shutterstock’s products in collaboration with our direct team.

Tailored Solutions: Analyze client needs and industry trends to propose customized solutions that enhance the client experience and drive increased revenue.

Presentations and Pitches: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and pitches to clients and partners, clearly articulating the value proposition of Shutterstock's data and GenAI products.

Senior Leadership Engagement: Cultivate high-level relationships with senior leaders within Shutterstock and partner organizations, enhancing collaboration and strategic alignment.

Industry Engagement: Represent Shutterstock at relevant industry conferences and events, staying attuned to market trends and networking with potential clients and partners.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Experience: 8-12 years of experience in leading strategic partnerships and managing complex transactions within the Media, Data, and/or Technology sectors, with a focus on the APAC market.

Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated success in leading teams and collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners to achieve shared goals.

Strategic Business Development: Proven track record in business development and strategic account management, with a strong emphasis on revenue generation and client satisfaction.

Market Insight: Deep understanding of the APAC market dynamics, with the ability to develop and execute strategies that align with regional needs and opportunities.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess customer approaches and processes, recommending impactful improvements to drive results.

Proactive Attitude: A ‘can do’ mindset with a willingness to work across multiple projects and support team efforts where needed.

Commitment to Growth: A strong commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, with a keen interest in staying updated on industry trends and advancements in data and AI.

Performance Orientation: Proven results in consistently exceeding performance targets, driving significant impact on business growth.
Language Skills: Fluent in English and Manderin
