Job Description: 

We seek an experienced and versatile Staff Software Engineer with expertise in PHP/Laravel, DevOps, and proficiency in AWS, JavaScript, and Python to join a SWAT team. This team tackles complex, high-impact projects that require quick problem-solving, resilience, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a proactive, resourceful approach to addressing challenges. You should be an effective communicator, work well under pressure, and be adept at cross-functional collaboration to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities:   

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications using PHP and the Laravel framework, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• Design and implement DevOps processes and automation pipelines using AWS, enhancing deployment efficiency and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with other developers, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality, robust solutions for our platform.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and performance improvements to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the codebase.
• Contribute to the ongoing project that involves diverse technologies, including PHP, JavaScript, Python, and cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues, sometimes under high-pressure situations, with a solution-oriented and agile mindset.
• Mentor team members, providing guidance on best practices, design principles, and problem-solving approaches.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with advanced proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.
• Solid experience with AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code).
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Python to support full-stack development and cross-functional team requirements.
• Experience with a CRM is preferred. SugarCRM is a big plus for this position.

Soft skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
• Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit; able to work cross-functionally with different teams and stakeholders.
• Highly resourceful, adaptive, and able to handle challenges and ambiguity with resilience.

Bonus skills: 

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools for performance and error tracking.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
