Description
The Late-Stage Default Manager is responsible for oversight of all aspects of Late-Stage Default servicing including the Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Claims, Property Preservation, Default Reporting, and Invoicing processes for UHM. Oversight includes personnel management and coaching, monthly KPI reporting and monitoring, workflow review and scheduling, maintain department staffing model, and provide data, information, and support to the Default Servicing Manager, as well as all departments with UHM Servicing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide oversight of the Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Claims, Property Preservation, Default Reporting, and Invoicing functions within Servicing.
- Provide leadership to the Late-Stage Default team, including provide direction, motivation, collaboration, while mining ideas to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Primary oversight to the above functions ensuring UHM is compliant with investor, regulatory, federal, and statutory requirements.
- Reporting – Develop and implement a daily and monthly rhythm for the reporting of Late-Stage Default metrics including but not limited to:
- Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Exception reporting/tracking
- Defect rate by workflow
- Production volumes by workflow
- Default Reporting – provide oversight to the monthly Default Reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to adherence with investor and agency requirements.
- Procedures / Job Aids - Review and maintain current policies and procedures to ensure current workflow is accurately reflected within published procedures. Create Job Aids to assist the new hires and existing partners.
- Compliance—Ensure implementation of department procedures to accommodate state, federal, investor and/or insurer guidelines.
- Default Vendor Management – Complete and present scorecards for default related vendors based on industry and UHM KPI’s/SLA’s. Assist in the vetting and onboarding new vendors.
- Monitor the corporate advance process, ensuring the inclusion of corporate advance balances that are recoverable from borrowers are included in all reinstatement and payoff loans for loans in Foreclosure and/or Bankruptcy. Review and approve non-recoverable corporate advances within established authority limits. Present to senior management for any exceeding the established authority limits.
- Litigation Referral – create and deliver summary page to in-house legal when files become contested, are involved in litigation or require legal intervention
- Foreclosure Review Committee – Lead the committee that completes the review of loans ready for referral to foreclosure. Create a matrix of all referral documents required per state. Ensure AOM’s out of MERS prior to referral.
- Additional responsibilities include budget monitoring responsibilities, adhering to Investor scorecards and Neighborhood Watch comparisons while effectively managing delinquent roll rates for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
- Effectively monitor and manage staff workload to create efficiencies, increase productivity and ensure completion within required timeframes
- Perform duties related to staff development such as coaching, performance evaluations, disciplining employees, and training
- Assist management team in creation and maintenance of department’s policies and procedures including development of staff training resources
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in business related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with ICE (BKFS) MSP servicing system and related applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective problem solver and troubleshooter.
- Knowledge of Black Knight preferred.
