The Contracts Manager will be empowered to support and continuously improve Wealthsimple's contract management process as part of Wealthsimple's Reg Team. You will partner with stakeholders in Product, Marketing, Engineering, Procurement and Legal to manage legal risk and enable business and product objectives. Your job will be to help Wealthsimple make smarter decisions and evolve the contract management process to ensure it's meeting the needs of the organization as we continue to grow.
As the Contracts Manager you will:Negotiate, draft and manage vendor and supplier agreements that enable the development and execution of our product roadmap and growth initiatives.Produce contractual documentation and assist with assessing contractual effectiveness across the organization.Support the Legal team in initiatives to improve the team’s processes and service delivery models by developing self-help tools, templates and checklists, policies, procedures and training.Work with business partners to oversee and manage the complete lifecycle of contracts at Wealthsimple.Act as point person for participants in the contracting process, coordinating as needed.Ensure that all contract terms accurately express the business understanding agreed upon by the parties and that appropriate approvals or authorizations are secured.Maintain a contracts management system to efficiently track and manage contract approvals, renewals and obligations.What you bring:3-5 years of demonstrated success in a contract management role within the legal or procurement team at an established and fast moving businessPost-secondary education in a paralegal, business or related legal program (university or college degree); advanced degree or certification (including a law degree or CIPP/C), is a plusExperience drafting and negotiating vendor agreements, particularly with technology vendors, including master services agreements, statements of work, service level agreements, SaaS agreements, software and data licensing, consulting agreements and RFPsSkills to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal audiencesProject management and organizational skills that can be used to balance competing prioritiesExperience or interest in privacy law.
