About The Team
We are Workday for Platforms. For over 25 years, we have been the leader in building, scaling, and integrating platforms. Our business supports over 1,000 software companies and over 700K end-users with their payment solutions. As the market evolves, so do the needs of our users. The role of Integrated Payments and Payment Facilitation in this market is growing rapidly. We are expanding to provide solutions that seamlessly extend from the core Workday for Platforms experience, with a new focus on Settlements & Disbursements.
What You’ll Own
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the Settlements & Disbursements platform infrastructure, ensuring it remains robust, secure, scalable, and responsive to the needs of our clients.
- Architect, build, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
- Design and optimize systems to handle high transactional volume related to settlements and disbursements, ensuring performance at scale.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform services are well-integrated with product requirements.
What You Bring
- 8+ years software engineering experience
- Proven experience in cloud platforms, especially AWS, for managing and scaling infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of container orchestration tools, including Kubernetes and Helm, for deployment and scaling.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, to manage data in high-volume applications.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Pulumi and Terraform for automating deployments.
- Experience working in high-transactional compute environments with a focus on performance and reliability at scale.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Python, or PHP preferred).
- Strong understanding of best practices in security, scalability, and high availability.
- Payments Technology Experience: Proven track record in designing, implementing, or scaling systems in the payments space, including PCI compliance, secure payment gateways, and real-time transaction processing.
- High-Throughput Systems Expertise: Experience in designing and managing high-performance systems capable of handling millions of transactions daily, ensuring low latency and fault tolerance.
- Platform Engineering Experience: Strong background in platform engineering with experience in building infrastructure as a product, working on platform APIs, and enabling developer productivity through platform services.
Desired Experience (not Required)
- Experience working in a fintech or payments-focused environment.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms and tools.
- Passion for exploring new technologies and optimizing existing ones.

Worldpay is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $136,190.00 - $228,790.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
