You’ll be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of this burgeoning channel, working on a variety of engaging content from short-form videos to longer vlogs.

Job Description

As a Video Editor for this growing YouTube channel, you’ll be at the forefront of crafting captivating content that resonates with audiences. Your role will involve bringing a specific aesthetic vision to life through expert editing, color grading, and audio selection. You’ll work on diverse projects, from quick, impactful 5-minute videos to more in-depth 15-20 minute vlogs, as well as creating eye-catching short-form content for platforms like TikTok or Instagram Reels. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity and technical skills while contributing to the growth of an emerging online brand.

Responsibilities

• Edit two weekly videos: one 5-7 minute sit-down chat video and one 15-20 minute vlog-style video
  
• Create 1-2 short-form reels per week for from the Youtube videos to be used as Youtube Shorts 
  
• Apply simple color grading, sound effects and background music to match the channel’s feel
  
• Add captions and text overlays to enhance video content (for example cooking recipe, bible verse etc)
  
• Manage time effectively to meet weekly content deadlines
  
• Assist with creating video thumbnails using images provided and repurposed from Youtube video 
  
• Summarise Youtube video into a brief newsletter (related to video content) for emailing
  
  

Requirements

• Proven proficiency in video editing software (specific software flexible)
  
• Strong skills in color grading and applying visual effects
  
• Up-to-date knowledge of YouTube and short-form video content trends
  
• Excellent time management skills for juggling multiple projects
  
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality output
  
• Effective communication skills for smooth collaboration and feedback integration
  
• Familiarity with lifestyle content creation and personal branding a plus
  
• Ability to adapt editing style to match channel aesthetics, inspired by creators like Sarah Day
  
• Openness to expanding role and taking on additional content creation tasks as needed
