Position Summary:
Under supervision of the Senior Director, leads efforts to engage alumni. Works to increase alumni engagement through planned events, volunteer opportunities and giving. Supports ongoing efforts and develops new initiatives that align with the College’s strategic plan for 2024-2029.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes a robust calendar of alumni engagement activities through the planning and execution of regional and virtual events hosted by the Office of Institutional Advancement, alumni, professional associations and/or campus partners
- Secures 1:1 meetings with prospective donors to gauge their interest and capacity in giving
- Manages a portfolio of 75-80 donors and prospective donors
- Collaborates closely with the Donor Relations Manager to support the planning and execution of Reunion Weekend activities and annual scholarship reception
- Collaborates closely with Annual Giving Manager in support of annual giving goals
- Collaborates with Student Experience staff and Faculty members to identify alumni speakers for student events and guest lectures
- Develops and supports alumni affinity groups around professional interest areas, hosts virtual and in person events for alumni in these groups
- Maintains strong relationships with faculty program directors in support of alumni initiatives
- Manages alumni volunteer projects and committees including but not limited to: President’s Advisory Council, GOLD Advisory Board, Alumni Awards Committee
- Maintains accurate and detailed records of stakeholder communications and contact reports and records them in Raiser’s Edge

- Demonstrated knowledge of the techniques of moves management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening
- Highly self-motivated, metrics-driven and goal-oriented
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Maintains a positive attitude and is able to work as part of a high-functioning team
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-3 years of fundraising experience with preference for direct individual solicitations
- Familiarity with fundraising in higher education or health sciences

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Additional Information:
This hybrid/remote position is based in Albany, NY. This role is required to be on-site at least 1 days per week (if applicable). All remote work must be performed in a state in which the College is registered to do business which includes New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maryland, Texas, and California. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. The position requires some travel, depending on the needs of the College.
