Job description

Description

groundcover is a fast-growing B2D company set to reinvent the way developers monitor their cloud-native applications and impact their organization’s scale. We help teams by providing them with the insights they need to troubleshoot better and faster when trouble hits. We believe that even the most complex systems can have a flawless and amazing user journey.

We are looking for an exceptional technical product marketer to help drive the business and go to market to support the rapid growth of groundcover.

You will gain in-depth knowledge of the groundcover product, working closely with product and marketing teams to create content that promotes awareness, education, and onboarding. You will also collaborate with the Sales team to provide them with essential use cases, insights, and sales strategies to optimize their performance.

We are focused on candidates located in New York City and Boston.

What You’ll Do:

  • Become the subject matter expert in eBPF-based cloud observability with an in-depth understanding of the market and product, including overall value proposition, features, functionality and the verticals and use cases in which they are relevant.
  • Partner closely with product management to ensure we are delivering on end to end scenarios that meet customer needs and to execute world-class product and feature launches.
  • Develop tools and training to support the full sales cycle, including product demos, sales training, reference architectures, and competitive intelligence to the field and marketing organizations.
  • Develop marketing assets such as pitch decks, case studies, landing pages, blog posts, webinars, short-form product videos, and customer testimonials to drive engagement with prospects and customers.
  • Deliver key messages that enable our marketing team to execute high-quality digital and event-based campaigns and programs. Work closely with our demand generation teams to drive pipeline for the sales organization.
  • Drive the core message and strategy for customer-facing assets.
  • Thought leadership – Represent groundcover at speaking engagements, customer conferences, and in presentations to partner sales teams/industry analysts.

How You’ll Do It:

  • Understand the market: Research the competitive landscape and customer pain points to position groundcover as a unique player, especially in the application performance monitoring space by engaging developers and customer champions. Constantly stay on top of competitive intelligence and discover opportunities for analyst and journalist attention of the company.
  • Product demos & events: Confidently run product demos, webinars, and attend and host relevant events to drive product adoption.
  • Partnerships and integrations: Work closely with partners to ensure smooth product integrations and boost market visibility.
  • Review management: Own and manage groundcover’s presence on platforms like G2 and capterra, ensuring we gather positive reviews that reflect our product value.
  • Voice of the customer: engage with customers to provide ongoing feedback about product features and use cases and to develop case studies and marketing materials based on customer stories.
  • Developer engagement: continuously work with RND to improve company Docs, engage in relevant dev forums, create discussion and interest, post on company’s owned slack channel and identify opportunities to position groundcover on external slack channels.
  • Be the hub: work closely with the company’s sales, rnd, product, and design teams to internalize market feedback and to build technical, outward facing materials based on learnings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience at a software or PLG company, preferably at a growth stage, ideally as a Product Marketer or Product Manager working on a product targeted towards a technical audience (ie; developers, DevOps, and SREs).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills; as well as strong messaging skills.
  • Proven track record of marketing to highly technical audiences. You must be comfortable working with and marketing to developers, DevOps personas, and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Project management skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical background: Experience in product or engineering is required to deeply understand the technical aspects of the product.
  • Strong writing skills: Ability to write clear, concise technical content that resonates with both developers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, outward-facing marketer: Comfortable creating product updates, running demos, writing tutorials, and engaging with the developer community through various content channels.
  • Startup mindset: Adaptability and flexibility to pivot quickly and adjust strategies as we grow.
