We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer/Technical Lead to support us on our mission to build a borderless world. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys coding and mentoring in equal measure, with a keen eye on strategic technical direction. Join a close-knit team of engineers, product managers, designers, and UX researchers. Our remote collaboration spans multiple time zones, facilitated by tools like Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, and the Google suite. We value transparency, respect, and a shared dedication to simplifying our customers' lives, whether they're HR managers, case managers, or employees undergoing life-changing global mobility processes.
We serve our customers through a web app built with React, TypeScript, Webpack, NextJS, and other technologies, which communicates with a REST API built with Ruby on Rails, Postgres, and Redis. We are currently evaluating building parts of our applications using the latest Ruby on Rails frontend technologies such as Hotwire, Turbo and Stimulus. We use GitHub for version control and code reviews, Semaphore and Github Actions for CI/CD, Rollbar for production error tracking, and rely on Heroku for infrastructure management.
