Our environment is a mix of Windows and Linux machines that reside on-premise and in the cloud. It is crucial that all work is performed under strict adherence to PCI DSS requirements, and our environment is required to be available 24x7.
Requirements:
- A solid understanding of database management systems, as well as experience with tools and technologies used to manage and maintain databases, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server;
- 3+ years of experience with MongoDB;
- 2+ years of experience with Redis;
- 2+ years of experience with at least one scripting language;
- 1+ years of experience with Azure/AWS;
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux;
- Upper-intermediate level of English.
Responsibilities:
- The Database Administrator will be responsible for the database systems' implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance. Today we utilize SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redis;
- Designing and implementing solutions for high availability and disaster recovery, including data replication, backup, and recovery strategies;
- Optimizing performance, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization;
- Capacity planning, including forecasting storage and resource requirements;
- Setting up alerts and monitoring to ensure the health and performance of the databases;
- Performing upgrades as required, including software upgrades and hardware upgrades;
- Ensuring the security of the databases, including implementing security best practices, monitoring for security breaches, and implementing access controls;
- Managing and maintaining the databases, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, monitoring for performance issues, and implementing performance tuning;
- Coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs and design solutions that meet those needs.
