Job description

Your mission
As a Data & Analytics Consultant, you will convert our clients’ ideas into technical solutions that deliver value. We focus on Microsoft technology rather than claiming to be experts in all stacks. Our consultants not only know how to build robust data solutions but are also adept at guiding clients through scoping conversations and managing stakeholders. This position is central to the Data Solutions & Insights team, with members located in both Vilnius and Amsterdam. Globally, Macaw has approximately 450 employees, with around 50 dedicated to data, organized into six informal teams.

Your daily responsibilities will depend on two factors: your client projects and your interest in contributing to internal initiatives. Client projects vary widely, ranging from small, fast-paced hands-on assignments on prototypes for small Dutch clients to large rollouts and solution architecture for German global players. In smaller projects, you might act as an independent pioneer, while in larger projects, you’ll collaborate with a large team and professional project management.

Regarding internal initiatives, these will align with your personal interests. Are you enthusiastic about Microsoft Fabric, AI, Copilot, Azure Databricks, and data strategy? Perhaps you enjoy training, diving deep into visualizations, organizing events, or mentoring colleagues? You can choose from our portfolio to determine where you want to grow and how you want to contribute to making things better.
Your profile
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and engage with external stakeholders to understand their data needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Evaluate existing data collections and analytic platforms for purposes such as migration, optimization, and governance.
  • Test, implement, adopt, and document BI solutions built by the data team.
  • Gather data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Clean, organize, and transform data for effective analysis.
Requirements
  • Ideally, you are a seasoned professional with 3-5 years of experience as an analyst, consultant, or developer within the data domain.
  • You have a quantitative background: IT or computer science is ideal, but we also value those with technical or business backgrounds who have transitioned to analytics.
  • You know how to translate client requests into requirements and write user stories.
  • You have professional working proficiency in English. Professional working proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Power BI / Fabric: A PL300 or DP600 certificate is appreciated. You have knowledge of star schema data modeling, DAX, and M. You are familiar with concepts such as pipelines, warehouses, lakehouses, and notebooks.
  • Open to occasional travel if required by our client.
Bonus Points For:
  • Data Engineering and Data Architecture: Familiarity with technologies such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and languages such as T-SQL, Python/PySpark.
  • Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with DevOps or JIRA.
  • Any additional domain knowledge (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Logistics) is appreciated. We leverage everyone’s background when a customer from a specific industry contacts us.
