Job Description

Tailscale is hiring a Community Manager to focus on growing and managing our developer community. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to increase connection, user retention, and advocacy with Tailscale’s users.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key influencers and advocates in the community, and encourage user-generated content and sharing.
  • Act as the community's voice, sharing user feedback, insights, and trends with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, plan, and execute community programs that support Tailscale’s business goals.
  • Measure, analyze and report on the impact of programs.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure community engagement initiatives align with the overall go-to-market strategy, branding, and messaging.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest community management trends and best practices, and apply these learnings to our community engagement strategies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with community management and engagement, including fostering relationships with community members, and promoting community growth.
  • Working knowledge of community and advocacy platforms and tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong cultural literacy and familiarity with developers: their needs, tools, and technologies
  • A track record ramping on new technical concepts quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional teams
  • Passion for community and customer advocacy

  • Experience with privacy and security or networking products
