Role Title: Business Development Lead - US Mid-Market & Regional Grocery

Reports to: The Founders

Location: US, Remote (Ability to travel across the US is essential)

Your Mission:

Your mission is to drive the growth of OrderGrid by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with mid-market and regional grocery chains across the US. You will work to expand our presence in the nationwide and regional markets, fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers, and positioning OrderGrid as the go-to platform for their online and on-demand grocery operational needs.

Reporting directly to the founders, this role is ideal for a results-driven sales or account executive with deep industry knowledge and a passion for building and nurturing business relationships in the grocery sector.

Requirements
  • Experienced Tech Sales Professional: You bring at least 3-5 years of experience in tech sales, with a proven track record of success with mid-market and regional grocery in the US.
  • Industry Expert: You have a deep understanding of the grocery industry, including the challenges and opportunities faced by mid-market and regional chains along with an established network among grocery tech decision-makers.

  • Strategic Thinker: Skilled at developing and executing sales strategies that align with both client needs and company goals.

  • Relationship Builder: Strong ability to establish and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers within the grocery industry.

  • Excellent Communicator: You can articulate complex solutions clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally.

  • Results-Oriented: A self-starter who thrives on meeting and exceeding sales targets, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Travel-Ready: You are flexible and prepared to travel as required.


What You’ll Do:
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the mid-market and regional grocery market across the US. Develop a robust pipeline of prospects and convert them into long-term partners.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with grocery chains and food distributors, understanding their operational challenges and offering tailored solutions from OrderGrid’s suite of products.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with OrderGrid’s leadership team to develop and refine sales strategies that target local and regional grocery markets. Customize pitches and proposals to align with client needs.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations with prospective clients, addressing concerns, and securing agreements that are mutually beneficial.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics. Use this knowledge to inform sales strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product and marketing teams to ensure that client feedback is integrated into the product development process and that marketing initiatives align with sales efforts
