JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Sales – National Accounts (Lowe’s) will be responsible for driving strategic growth, sales execution, and profitability for our cabinet lines sold through Lowe’s. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, managing high-level relationships with Lowe’s executives, and working cross-functionally with our marketing, product, and supply chain teams to deliver exceptional service and support.
The VP of Sales will be expected to leverage deep knowledge of the home improvement retail landscape, with a focus on category management, to secure and expand our market share. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader with a proven track record in managing complex retail accounts, preferably with experience in kitchen cabinetry or building materials.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Lowe’s, focusing on growth targets, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular market and competitive analysis to understand trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
- Establish and communicate a compelling value proposition for our cabinets and related products to Lowe’s leadership teams and decision-makers.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with key stakeholders within Lowe’s to secure support and prioritize our products in their merchandising plans.
- Act as the main point of contact for Lowe’s, ensuring excellent service, timely communication, and seamless execution of all sales initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Lowe’s category managers and buyers to optimize product placement, promotions, and program performance.
Sales Operations and Performance:
- Set and monitor annual and quarterly sales targets for Lowe’s, ensuring objectives align with company revenue goals and account potential.
- Oversee inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment processes in collaboration with supply chain and operations teams to meet demand at Lowe’s stores and e-commerce channels.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics regularly to assess program effectiveness, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product development and marketing teams to ensure product offerings align with Lowe’s customer demographics, pricing strategies, and promotional schedules.
- Partner with finance and operations departments to ensure account profitability, manage budgets, and align with inventory planning.
- Collaborate with field sales, merchandising, and training teams to ensure brand consistency, product knowledge, and sales performance at the store level.
People Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated sales team focused on Lowe’s account management and customer support.
- Foster a results-oriented, high-performance culture by setting clear goals, providing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large national accounts, preferably in the home improvement or building materials industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale retail accounts, specifically with home improvement giants like Lowe’s, Home Depot, or similar.
- Strong understanding of category management, pricing strategies, and promotional planning in a retail environment.
- Successful track record managing field sales teams and developing relationships with retailer field merchandising teams,
- Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with executive decision-makers.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and forecast effectively.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated successful ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Ability to travel up to 50%+.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Experience in the building industry, working with pros and designers.
- Experience supporting eCommerce and interconnected strategies.
