About the location:

**This is a remote position based in the US.**

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities within the Private Retreats, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and developing strategies to increase revenue and expand the resort’s market presence. The role involves working closely with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to create innovative initiatives that attract high-end clientele and corporate partnerships while maintaining the luxury standards of the hotel.

This position is responsible for business generation as it relates to prospecting and securing direct  bookings on behalf of the hotel in accordance with the goals and strategies outlined in the annual Marketing Plan and in concert with WSO effort.  This position is accountable for ensuring quotas and goals are met and to ensure that direct sales activities are focused on generating the highest possible RevPar for the overall hotel’s success. This position requires a high degree on independent judgement and discretion on decision making.

This a remote role that supports the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Nevis, reporting to the Director of Leisure Sales. This role involves interactions with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

What You’ll Be Doing

Business Development and Prospecting:

  • Solicit, confirm and service new travel agents, new wholesale and direct consumer

  • Identify and create target accounts or agencies that will generate business on behalf of hotel but not conflict with WSO efforts and Sales Managers efforts

  • Utilize arrival reports, Opera business, designated Tradeshow databases, Revintel, to  solicit and secure business on behalf of hotel.

  • Use company wide programs, sales developments, prospecting projects, customer events and reporting for individual business development.

  • Follow up on Private Retreats Reservations inquiries and leads and qualify business to generate room nights. 

  • Create and execute account plans for top 20 accounts and make recommendations re: pricing, room night production, sales activities, etc.

  • Uncover potential P2P leads on behalf of sister properties and the company.

  • Work with Director of Leisure Sales / Sales Manager & Director of Revenue to ensure relevant and timely promotions are developed and implemented for key markets and accounts

  • Remain updated with current knowledge of competitor’s products and promotions

  • Identify and react to in market events and opportunities to promote sales

  • To adhere to the Sales and Marketing minimum operating standards

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing

Prioritizing & Time Management:

  • Treat active selling, solicitation, and business development as #1 job priority.

  • Schedule activities effectively and meet deadlines.

Product Knowledge and Training:

  • Maintain thorough and complete product knowledge of Four Seasons hotel property and in-depth understanding of comp set’s Features/Advantages/Benefits.

  • Organize customer site inspections to uncover needs and present solutions that will maximize booking opportunity and create strong customer relationships.

  • Create Site Impression alerts identifying and communicating traveller’s needs and acting as liaison to ensure all operational aspects of their stay are met.

  • Understand and utilize the sales tools the company provides and to follow and support all sales and marketing MOS. Ability to sell all hotel products and services.

Sales Effectiveness:

  • Track and focus on conversion to ensure hotel revenue objectives are impacted and achieved.

  • Write clear and effective sales correspondence.

  • Make a strong and positive impression on clients.

  • Develop and utilize sales skills in all sales interactions.

Sales Administration:

  • Establish and maintain strong Golden Sales & Catering, hygiene including account creation, account traces, contact information, client email lists, bookings, etc. in accordance with Four Seasons standards.

  • Understand and maximize the utilization of all automated sales and reservations systems (Opera) involved with business.

  • Participate in sales meetings, and leadership meetings as required.

  • Respond and maintain effective correspondence with all potential and existing clients. 

  • Follow up on all pending and currently booked business details.

  • Produce monthly sales recaps of market achievement based upon marketing plan objectives.

  • Produce and execute quarterly and annual action plans. 

Communication:

  • To ensure effective communication between all colleagues of the department and also with other departments.

  • To ensure and maintain consistent standards through day-to-day communication, daily briefings and on-going training.

  • To attend any department training sessions and/or meetings required

What You Bring

  • High School or Bachelor Degree, preferably hospitality university background

  • We are looking for individuals who have a proven track record in a similar role with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, who showcase evidence of having a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service.
