Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:                                                 

  • Supervise staff. Provide leadership, coaching and guidance.
  • Ensure staff operates in compliance with all state and federal laws applicable to activities within their area of responsibility.
  • Execute decisions that are within the Credit Union’s policies and procedures that represent rationale and sound decision making.
  • Collaborate with the department leadership team concerning operational and departmental changes.
  • Review, implement and monitor policies, procedures and best practices within areas of responsibility.

 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Reducing portfolio delinquency through collection processes.
  • Recovery of collateral secured by loans.
  • Portfolio management through loan charge-off processing.
  • Member assistance.
  • Total Loss.
  • Collateral Protection Insurance (SMP.)
  • Titles Department and processes.
Qualifications:

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years collection experience in consumer lending, business lending, mortgages and recovery efforts required
  • 1 year of leadership experience or demonstrated leadership experience within the CU required
  • Must be knowledgeable of Debtor/Creditor Collection Law, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, and Florida Statutes pertaining to the collection of consumer and business debts.  Familiar with bankruptcy, foreclosure and litigation law pertaining to collections is highly beneficial
  • Excellent telephonic communication, negotiation and analytical skills needed. Bilingual (Spanish) desired
  • Ability to recognize and resolve problems quickly and to provide accurate information regarding specific circumstances and convey facts in a professional, clear and concise manner
  • Experience in a call center environment beneficial

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.
  • Must be able to hear and use a telephone & headset. 
  • Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations.
  • Sedentary role.
  • You’ll play a vital role supporting our members, so schedule flexibility may include evenings and /or weekend (Saturday) hours.
