About Us:
Rootstock Software is a leader in cloud manufacturing and supply chain solutions built on Salesforce, empowering businesses to optimize operations and drive growth. Our engineering team in India is expanding, and we’re seeking a Development Supervisor to lead a small, agile team working on the Salesforce platform focusing on Apex and Lightning.
Role Overview:
This role is ideal for a Salesforce engineer or administrator with a strong background in the platform who wants to step into a leadership role while staying hands-on. As Engineering Supervisor, you will spend most of your time (~75%) developing and delivering features, troubleshooting issues, and guiding your team in technical best practices. This position offers a balanced path for engineers eager to develop leadership skills without stepping away from technical work. This role works and collaborates heavily with our US Engineering team and typically works 11am-8pm IST.
Key Responsibilities:
• Salesforce Platform Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of Salesforce limitations, roadmap, and functionality to guide development and ensure effective use of the platform.
• Individual Contributor Work (75%): Actively contribute to coding and feature delivery on Salesforce, focusing on Apex, Lightning and adhering to Salesforce best practices.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Guide team members on technical issues, helping them find practical solutions and make decisions with the support of senior engineering leadership.
• Mentorship & Development: Conduct regular 1-on-1s, offer feedback, and support team members’ professional growth, particularly in Salesforce-specific skills.
• Agile Practices: Lead sprint planning and stand-ups, ensure tasks are aligned with priorities and scoped effectively, and escalate significant risks or blockers as needed.
• Metrics Monitoring: Track agile metrics like velocity and cycle time to balance team workload, monitor task completion, and suggest improvements.
• Risk Management: Identify technical risks specific to Salesforce, engage in incident response for platform-related issues, and proactively address minor technical debt.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience, ideally as a Salesforce engineer or administrator.
• Strong skills in Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning, and platform best practices.
• Salesforce certification (e.g., Platform Developer, Administrator) or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in a technical leadership role (e.g., tech lead or senior developer).
• Excellent communication skills with a passion for mentorship and developing team skills in Salesforce.
