Job description

The mission if you choose to accept it
We’re building the future of restaurant management.
Nory is the #1 operating system for multi-site restaurants and bars. Join us on our mission to help the hospitality industry double their profitability, reduce their carbon footprint and be able to offer better working environments for their teams.
Our CEO Conor founded and scaled Mad Egg, one of the fastest growing restaurant groups in Ireland. Having felt the pain of hacking together a mix of “market leading” restaurant management systems, spreadsheets and paper print-outs, he set out to build the solution he wished he had from day one: Nory.
Today, thousands of users at hundreds of restaurants and bars across Ireland and the UK use Nory every day - and we’re just getting started.
Nory’s Performance Management product helps our customers ensure their businesses are performing at their best. Restaurant teams use our web and mobile apps to monitor their business performance and forecast their demand. This helps them make good decisions quickly, such as efficient scheduling and ordering for minimum waste and consistent margins.
Your profile
What you’ll be doing

Our teams are cross-functional with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility for their product.

You’ll be one of Nory’s first product management hires. Rather than spending your time composing user stories, people-managing teams or project managing their output, your focus will be on:

  • Ensuring we are building the best possible tools to solve our customers biggest problems

  • Empowering our designers and engineers to make great product decisions and build world class products

  • Coaching our teams to deeply understand and effectively communicate what we do to our customers and prospects

Here are some examples of what you’ll be helping us with:

  • Partnering with product designers and product engineers to deeply understand, define and validate problems to solve. The product is relatively young and we work closely with its users to improve it based on real-world usage.

  • Assisting product teams in shaping and validating impactful solutions that make Nory smarter, more powerful and ergonomic for our users.

  • Crafting documentation and narratives that help us better communicate the value we ship to our customers. Our product teams actively help CS and GTM functions in fulfilling their day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Monitoring our impact through qualitative and quantitative research and learning from successes and failures. At Nory, not a day goes by without speaking to our customers or reviewing product analytics.

  • Planning the future of the Nory product. We need to ensure that the features we release are iterated on to the highest standard while setting foundations for the long term.

What a good fit looks like:
  • You’ve worked at a B2B SaaS startup (seed to Series A, and beyond) and you’ve outcomes to show us. Transferable experience with hospitality services, POS or inventory management systems is a plus.

  • You’re fluent in: business case development, customer discovery and setting up a product team to deliver at pace

  • You’re a systems thinker. You’ll help us think strategically, uncover and validate assumptions we may hold – and ship world-class software.

  • You excel at enabling and aligning others. You share the knowledge you acquired in a way that helps your Nory teammates in product, design and engineering do their best work.

  • You can translate impact. Your work will connect our R&D, CS and GTM efforts. Clear communication in a hybrid working environment is key.

  • You can adult. You value organisation, manage your time, set daily and weekly goals for yourself and your team. You take responsibility for your work and close open loops. You speak up, ask questions, can give and receive feedback. You know your boundaries and respect those of others. You work hard during reasonable hours so you can switch off at the end of the day - we don’t believe in “hero culture” and encourage a healthy work-life balance.

Why us?
What you can expect:
This is a rare opportunity to join a healthy, fast-growing start-up. Our product is solving real problems for the hospitality industry and can barely keep up with the increasing demand. The Nory team is currently ~30 strong and consists of hospitality industry experts as well as designers and engineers with roots at companies such as Glofox, Intercom, Pointy and Etsy.

We have lots to do and great ambitions, and we take good care of our people:
  • A competitive salary
  • 35 days of paid leave per year (25 holidays + 10 flexible bank holidays)
  • Health Insurance
  • Pension
  • Stock options
  • High quality laptop and tools to get the job done
  • Budget for your home office workspace
  • Access to a coworking space if you prefer not to work from home (currently Dublin only; London coming soon)
  • Annual personal development budget
  • Regular workshops, presentations and learning sessions
  • Quarterly events and team get-togethers
We hire humans. We are a distributed and diverse team from various backgrounds and want to keep it that way - we value people’s individuality and are committed to keeping Nory an inclusive workplace where everyone can do their best work. We do not discriminate based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, disability, or race.
Too often, people think they’ll only be considered for a role if they meet 100% of the qualifications. On top of that, some of us are are more confident than others. If you’re excited about our mission and feel like the description above speaks to you, you should still seriously consider applying. We’re rooting for you!
