This role is based in Baghdad, Iraq, and will report directly to the Finance Manager . The role will be to carry out general financial accounting duties in relation to accounts payable and purchases as well as assisting in planning cycle to help the company achieve its financial and business objectives.

 

Your responsibilities will be:

    • Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile expenses and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
    • Manage the entire payment and treasury cycle, including payments through hawala, bank transactions, and petty cash.
    • Facilitate vendor payments by reviewing purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies.
    • Maintain the accounts payable process to ensure timely payments in line with company policies.
    • Manage and track all vendor and employee advances and statements of account (SOA) to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation.
    • Reconcile monthly statements and transactions.
    • Oversee the complete recording, archiving, and reporting of expenses.
    • Prepare and report monthly financial and operating expense (OPEX) forecasts.
    • Verify documentation before booking to ensure compliance with internal policies.
    • Assist external auditors by providing necessary statements and information for the annual audit.
    • Support the timely and efficient preparation of budgets, annual financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow forecasts.
    • Develop and maintain controls and processes to ensure compliance with legal and financial regulations.
    • Prepare and monitor cash flow projections and records to optimize fund utilization or identify additional revenue needs.
    • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

    Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures


    Your Profile:

      • 3-6 years of experience in a similar role.
      • Excellent command of English and Arabic language.
      • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
      • Post-graduate study in accounting is preferable.
      • Ability to analyses, develop and implement finance improvement plans.
      • Ability to work within and lead cross-functional teams.
      • Attention to details and accuracy
      • Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance
